http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/gadgets/att-kills-iphone-plans-for-deaf-thanks-to-non+deaf-douchebags-328536.php What the hell? If deaf people were given discounts JUST for being disabled--I could see some people being upset---but I think it was revolutionary for that store to offer an iPhone plan that took out the voice part so it could cater to the hearing impared---it reached out to broaden the customer base---and some jerks complain about it. Is our society going down the crapper or what? Man that makes me sick--just like since AT&T has exclusive rights it has taken FOREVER for the iPhone to make it to places like here in Montana where AT&T doesn't do direct wireless business (a company called Chinook Wireless is AT&T's roaming partner here) ---crappy business decisions---thank goodness when I finally get an iPhone (or the Sony Ericcson phone that is similar--haven't decided yet) AT&T won't be getting my money! ------------------ |

AT&T is not a company with a conscience. They also have a monopoly in Iraq. One man's phone bill was in the thousands when he used it to be with his wife while she was in labor. That business practice falls under "charging exorbanant interest" which comes with a curse according to the Bible. God's Word does not return void, so AT&T will fall. Zook, your language hasn't improved much. Righteousness is the thing that God rewards. |

quote: Sorry bro, don't mean to offend Was that an Iraqi family or a US dude calling his wife back home? Either way it is sad---did you see that 'treaty' that Bush and Iraq signed? It basically gives incentive to American companies over others in helping (or should I say 'helping'??) Iraq--which will probably pave the way for of this What I also don't get is why complain???????? What the heck could that possibly do to better the world--it wasn't a slided deal--expecitng deaf people to use a voice plan IMO is a slided deal! BTW on another note---is anyone watching the updates on that Hillary Clinton's Office Hostage thing? I about flipped my top when I saw this: CNN is covering it right....well, they talk in GREAT length how they don't want to show live footage (they are showing it a few minutes behind) so the crook can't get a jump on the cops and realize what they are doing---to make the story more sensational, the idiot (yes, strong word but it fits) news anchor says she can see a live feed---she then reiterates that she can't show it but....guess what....SHE GOES AND DESCRIBES THE CURRENT HAPPENINGS IN FULL DETAIL!!!! If I was the cops I would be screaming at her manager right now----she could talk in full detail why it is important to not show live feed but she went ahead and possibly endangered those people's lives!!! She was describing an armored truck pulling up with swat people inside---now what if that sends the dude psycho and he hurts someone? I know that was a side rant---but I saw that and realized my theory that evolution CAN go backwards must be correct hehe! Back on topic---I never knew that much about AT&T---I guess it isn't surprising---I used to believe all this Corporate America stuff was conspiracy theory--then I worked for a Warranty Company (at a call center) and saw first hand how these companies (both the one I worked at and all its' clients--which includes MANY nationwide chain stores of all types) absolutely do not care about what is right or the value of human life---heck if you want another example look at Microsoft---you can release a screwed up OS as long as you force gamers to upgrade by making games require Vista----why develop a quality product when you can make more money with a faulty one? ------------------ |

It's a total shame. When Jesus rules, we won't have that kind of stuff. AT&T has all the cell phone coverage for the military, and they totally jack the prices up. It was an American calling his wife because she was pregnant. His phone bill was in the thousands. I hope the hostage thing ends peacefully. You know, after she planted questions in her campaign, I have to wonder if this is a set-up, too. I do not think at all it would be beneath her. It's like "Boy who cried wolf." I won't watch CNN anymore because of their baised actions. They don't respect common sense. I remember back in 2004 when a reporter on CNN would hold up pictures of his favorite Presidential candidate to the camera while the co-anchor was reporting. Totally unethical. And recently, during the Youtube debates, they fielded questions from a bunch of people who are politically active in the campaigns and let the audience think that they were just common people. Ted Turner started CNN, and he has been quoted as saying, "I don't need no Jew on a stick," referring to Jesus. What a jerk. So any chance CNN has to disregard common respect, they do, following their founder. His former wife, Jane Fonda, gave her life to Christ. It was around that same time that Turner Broadcasting Network started making some of the best Bible movies ever. Looks like the joke is on Ted. "The wealth of the wicked is piled up for the just." quote: LOL I love what Robin Williams said about that Jane Fonda found God, Ted Turner found out it wasn't him You know, part of me questioned if it was staged too---I would hope she isn't that low, but I don't like Hillary that much anways--but either way her underlings don't deserve that pain and stress..... ------------------ |

Pray for prayer—pray till you can pray; pray to be helped to pray, and give not up praying because you cannot pray, for it is when you think you cannot pray that you are most praying. Sometimes when you have no sort of comfort in your supplications, it is then that your heart—all broken and cast down—is really wrestling and truly prevailing with the Most High.” |

quote: I was definitely in somewhat agreement with a lot of comments, until this one... At the bottom of this thread, Pat Wilson put it well I think. As much as people complain about Microsoft and as much as Microsoft is pushing directives onto people, I definitely agree with this statement (taken from the above link):
quote: Sure there are people out there who manipulate others and know they can get away with certain things, but then again not everyone is against you and there are also reasons behind certain things. Being on the engine development side of things I've heard all sorts of conspiracy theories about GG and Torque dev, so though some may be true for certain companies I also sympathize to an extent. It's important to not to jump to conclusions, to consider the opposite perspective, to truly apply wisdom to knowledge. ------------------ |

In a world like we have today I can see both sides of the story (let me explain) As much as we want to give (by our spiritual nature) I have been where I have been threatened to be sued because (by their own perception) I gave preferential treatment to one person or group of people. In businesses law suits are usually more expensive than the amount that people are looking for (bad publicity, lawyer fees, etc) . . . It takes a business absolutely grounded in their belief to put a large chunk of change down to support a belief. Unfortunately, once the complaint was made AT&T was going to lose something, they just took the route they thought would loose least (I definitely don't agree with that, I would have like to see FREE services for the disabled) And why is this all happening in America, is it because of Global Warming? ? ? No, we have asked God to leave our country and stay out of our business. We have given way to companies being more worried about money than people. . . . Just my $0.02, can I have change? ------------------ If you ain't in the forums, you in the againstums :) |

quote: I see where you are coming from--but, on this end, why not then ask the ACLU for help and other helping-those-who-need-help organizations with defending this? Then AT&T would have been able to ride a wave of publicity in the media looking like a revolutionary sticking up for deaf people and helping them connect with the world in a more natural way---instead they are shanking deaf people because some non-deaf people don't like 'special treatment'----I mean WHAT THE HECK MAN?? If those non-dead people wanted a data-only plan they could have bought it too---I don't think you would have needed a doctor's note or anything, so why call it special treatment? It is like saying that, since wheelchair bound people use less shoes, they should have to buy special extra-expensive shoes so they don't save money over those of us that can walk--it is just ignorant. Matt L---I can understand why you sympathize, but I truly think MS has taken advantage of consumers many times on a malicious level---and Vista is only one proof----with Vista they could have built it off of XP---or they could have also made it so Halo 2 would have worked in XP (probably took more work to lock it out of XP--Halo 2 was in dev for a LONG time on the PC side and was probably mostly created with XP in mind) and allowed gamers to upgrade at their leisure----much like how, in consoles, when the 360 launched they immediately cut support for XBOX1---no more games, no more sales, no more help-----yet the PS2 is still selling like mad and many publishers are treating it similar to the Wii now--as a less costly way to get a game out----but in the XBOX brand MS wanted to force-upgrade everyone even though the 360 wasn't fully backwards compatible (admittidly, not ultra-big of an issue) and had several issues (faulty disc trays--had that happen to me personally---and also the 1-3 failure rate--both of the 360's we owned--mine and Trev's---red ringed before MS was admitting it and helping--they told us it was nothing and our consoles were fine so we took them to GameStop and traded them in)---so, while I agree that many companies unfairly get conspiracy theories and junk thrown at them, there are still quite a lot (including MS imo) that have a huge trail of dirt leading to their door----but it is good you played devil's advocate there and brought in that point of view tho--I don't think a company should immediately be black listed because they MIGHT be doing bad things, they should be judged by their character and what they do! ------------------ |

quote: (2nd post) You know, when I worked at that warranty company, I used to HATE it (along with everyone else) when we got a call about a HP computer--those things are glorified paperweights! I bet VooDooPC has gone down BIG time quality wise thanks to HP!!! I bought a HP printer right before I started there--and, for a year straight, every printer call I got was the same make and model--then mine broke at the 13 month mark (right past manufacture warranty, which a lot of HP products seem practically engineered to do) with the same kind of failures as the customers---so LOL I knew it was coming for quite a while hehe! ------------------ |
