Hi,guy i've been programming in borland for quite a time now and i haven't done any 3d programmnig before,i started Nehe's tutorial for opengl and i was doing just fine until i met the dreaded auxDIBImageLoad(char *); function, apparently you have to include glaux.lib with your project and glaux is a static library and won't link with your program if you are using any compiler that isn't microsoft visual c++,i really am understanding the tutorials and my programs compile just fine but it just won't link,i tried using bloodshed dev, compiler and that always says it's out of memory in the middle of compilation,i even tried giving up on opengl and start directx but that is even much worse,i googled for hours for a tutorial on directx but all i found was 2 tutorials and both of them require msvisual c++ to even get started,i tried building my own functions that load bitmaps, and they work just fine except i don't know the structure auxDIBImageLoad is suppose to return,i tried looking in the headers, but i can't find the structure,i found this real nice tutorial at http://www.spacesimulator.net but it depends on glut too much or something ,after hours of googling i was finally able to get borland to work with glut but nomatter what i keep getting memory access fault runtime errors with the glut functions.

Is 3d programming in borland impossible?????

if anyone did any 3d borland programming can you please show me it's driving me Crazzzzzzzy.

You *should* just be able to include the library file and then be able to compile/link your project fine...

As for DirectX, you might need to do a better search... there are plenty of tutorials out there (and yes, mostly for Visual C++)... BTW, Visual C++ Express is a free download if your up for it (and a very very nice IDE).

OpenGL is pretty good, there should be no reason why you can't build it, unless there is a compiler specific library which you can't use (which would be rather... different). I'd suggest having a look at the IDE settings for your included libraries...
