Is flash actually better than java for making small games? Is a fully functional programming language like java or just a scripting language? Personally, I find Flash a pain to work with when making games. It wasn't originally designed with games in mind, so one has to rely on a host of hackish tricks to get games to work. If you're looking for a Flash-like rapid-development game programming tool, I would recommend taking a look at Torque Game Builder. It's about the same price as Flash, and Garage Games offers a 30-day full-featured trial just like Macromedia does. --clint |
