I'm in a kind of dry moment of ideas, so I wanna help out somebody else in a project.

I'm a programmer with a bunch of free time, and I know a few languages: C, C++, BlitzBasic/3D, Python, Java, and all the web-based languages.

Anyone need a hand, I am too willing to help.

So, peace out, down with windows, viva linux (LOL @ me)

The Bible Dave project needs some more help -- we're nearing completion on that project, right now we're implementing the story line, creating puzzles and levels, and getting ready for a "finished" release.

Willing to learn C#? If so, XrucifiX could definitely use you. Email mack@xrucifix.com

Hi! We could really use you in the Bible Dave project which is written in Python! If you'd like to help out, please post, or pm me, HanClinto or Jari with your SourceForge.net login UN. If you don't have one that's ok, but SF.net has really helped us with development (mainly their CVS services).
EDIT: So having one will make everything easier on all of us.

Woo! BD is realeased under the GNU GPL v2 and runs perfectly in both Linux and Windows in case you're wondering

Dev. System Requirements:
Python 2.4.x
Pygame 1.7

Bible Dave provides Phil's Pygame Utilities so you don't need to download that.

Wow, that's cool, I'm famous!! (j/k)

@buddboy: I have windows, I'm simply not a fan of Microsoft, but I got both Windows XP and Linux on my PC. Your idea's cool, just not my type.

@HanClinto: BD Sounds cool! And I love the Hobbes Avatar!!

@Gump: Yah, I'd like to learn C#, but forgive me for being misinformed, what is Xrucifix?

Yeah, not my type, though it's a cool idea, I really wouldn't spend much time on a motion detection based thing...

And what IS Xrucifix?

Xrucifix was formerly Two Guys Software, and they developed the game Eternal War: Shadows of Light. They're currently in development of their second title "Eternal War: Nightmares", using the next-generation Reality game engine.

They generally cater to an edgier crowd, with their primary target audience being teenagers. Their games deal with serious topics that teenagers struggle with, like sex/drug addiction, suicide, and spiritual warfare.

They're often acused of just being "demon-slaying" games, but I think they really do try to put a lot more message behind the games than may be readily apparent at first.

Mack/Gump -- apologies if I misrepresented anything in there -- that's just what little I know of Xcrufix.

WHAT?!

Xrucifix = TGS!!!

Yo, Mack, that's nice, it's a cooler name !!!

Geez, and here I was thinking... nevermind...

Han, I checked out Bible Dave and it won't run on my Windows System (perfect on Linux, tho)... Will tell you what's wrong like, tomorrow, I'm great at bug-chasing

And Gump, I NEEDA LEARNA C SHARPA!!! Muahahaha (not crazy, just tired)

Momentary madness flew away.

Now seriously, I do want to improve my C# and Bible Dave does sound cool, though i'm more for the Darker themes... (working on a nice book that will probably get me in trouble...)

If anyone wants help with stories for games and stuff, don't doubta email me (rohanmaster at hotmail.com)

Excellent -- glad to hear that you're familiar with Xrucifix then.

Sorry to hear that BD won't run on your Windows box -- I know it won't run with Python 2.3 for me -- I need at least Python 2.4.

Hope you find a good project! The CGDC is coming up next week, and I'm sure I'll hear of plenty of opportunity for needs as far as game developers go.

Hey Conan,
Did you get my mail about maybe coding for my game? If you don't go for text games, I do have Torque and could do it in that format. IF your interested, let me know.
Thanks,

Sounds great Rife, and I love text games, if done correctly, so coding one should be fun!

You got it right, Clint. Although our official primary audience is the 12-35 age bracket. We'd actually agree with you that EW: SOL was mostly about demon-smiting and that the message contained within was not nearly as strong as we would have liked it to be (which was caused by communications problems with level designers and the ultra-low budget). This will change with EW: Nightmares. Still, I have received stories of people deciding to go to church after playing EW: SOL and then getting saved so God has used our efforts.

I'm trying to get a team together to work on an RPG that i am currently working on the design document for. So far, the document is going well and i am currently going through the story and minor aspects of the gameplay, as many of the large ones are already done. If your interested, you can email me at slashtyphoon@yahoo.com , or you can just post on my topic under help wanted called "Anyone interested in making a christian console style RPG?" Either way, thanks for your time!
