Hey Raptured!

There are a number of us here on the forums who are working on Christian MUDs in one way or another.

I'd be interested in hearing about your concept and game idea.

hanclinto at gmail dot com is my e-mail address if you'd like to talk more about Christian MUDs.

Respectfully,
clint

I am so glad to hear that...
The story line is this, its just after the rapture and there is a war between Heaven and Hell...all the creatures from bith realms are fighting for there own life and the lives of the forgotten.
It is a Godwars 2k code base...

You're saying that it's a Godwars 2k codebase -- does this mean that it's been running for a while? How much coding/building has been done on it so far? If very much, what else do you need for it? Or that you plan to use a Godwars 2k codebase?

Just so you know, personally, I'm not interested in working on a game whose theme is eschatology (as it's not high-up on my personal theological priority list). I'd be more than happy to put you in contact with the other Christian Mudders that I know, however most of them are very busy with existing projects.

I look forward to hearing more about your MUD! Have you run many MUDs in the past? How long has this one been up? How many people are working on it? (you didn't ask for writers, builders or admins, so either you're going to do all of that, or you have other people on the team already? You probably need to give everyone more information if you expect people to give their time to you).

Cheers!

Respectfully,
clint

Ok the Mud has been up for a year it is on enigma.dune.net 7777
you can either use a mud client or type it into telnet.
I have 2 builders and 4 admins. The code is written in C program.
There needs to be alot of work to the program for it to even launch to the MUD public. Noone really has played, except for the builders and admin, just to play around with some of the commands. WE have been to busy trying to find a coder to even help us. Let alone trying to find one that is christian and honest. This is a PK mud. Also I want to try to incorporate random bible verses and bible quizes into the MUD.
I have been praying about this very hard and I know that God wants me
to do this as a witnessing tool. He has already provided the majority of the staff, now all we need is a couple of vol. coders.
Thanks Raptured Soul

Is a MUD like a dedicated server? Is there any free ones?

no an MUD is a game... lol... it runs on a server, tho... cuz it's multiplayer... a hardcore MUD is textbased, but there are graphical... basically it's like the predecessor to the MMORPG... only textbased... they're very addicting lol...

hehe, yeah. I think Mite was in development at the time of that post, but I wasn't even to alpha with it I don't think, and since he said he already had a codebase, I didn't want to say "use mine!" without first asking him what he was looking for.
