 		3D modeler? If you're looking for a free 3D Modeler then the best one out there is Blender3D. It does just about anything you'd need, from 3D modeling to rendering CG movies. Actually you can make games with it too.

For simple modeling I like Wings3D: You'd be suprised at how fast and simple modeling is with it.

Anim8or is good too. Unlike Wings3D, Anim8or is capable of rendering CG movies.

And lastly Milkshape. It isn't free, but it's good for animating models.

 		I use AOI & Wings3D myself. I'm not sure about 2D, though. What exactly are you looking for?

 		By 2D do you want a pixel based graphic app or a vector based graphic app or did you mean 3D. If so they mentioned the good free stuff. Jeff

 		if you want vector stuff, check out inkscape. it is fairly new, but wow... amazing. i use it for all my posters, cards, pictures, etc, and stuff i design. if you want pixel stuff, try gimp.

yes, blender is the best. i know someone who uses it for 2d work as well :-)
