Don't know who's seen this tool before as it has been around for years. Basically, it's a free 3D modelling tool that doesn't really require any 3d skills. You piece your models together using 3D prefabricated 'parts' to make really cool models, add a few textures and voila, some cool graphics to use in your space shootem up, mecha, or even manga animations. To use the animation functions, you need to upgrade to the next level ($20 I think). This really is a nifty tool if you want to make vehicle models quick and extremely easy. In case you don't get my point, I HIGHLY recommend everyone have a tinker with this, even just for fun (kids love it too, it's like playing with Lego technics). Anyway, here is the link www.doga.co.jp.
I've had it for ages, but I've just started doing some 2D game programming again, and Doga is so good for making sprites, it's not funny.

For real Lego stuff, try http://www.lm-software.com/mlcad/ .

Looks like a nice program. Lookks like you have to register it to use it commercially, though.

ok, here's an important download tip for Doga. Make sure you download DogaL2, not DogaL1. DogaL2 includes DogaL1, but a better version which includes the ability to texture your objects whereas L1 doesn't. Though L1 is good if you want to try out the rendering/animation features. Anyway, I once again wholeheartedly recomment downloading Doga (L2!!)

Gosh darn, I have to post another update, I just tried DogaL3, which has even more features and is perfect for modelling as the texture features are awesome (but animation is disabled). Try em all.
