Wow that was an excellent article, and a real eye-opener. I always imagined the industry to be like that, but to hear it first hand pretty much put it into perspetive. So good lessons to be learnt guys! Definately a MUST read. --D-SIPL ------------------ |

Krylar, Nice article! Something many of us self-funded Christian Game Development Teams have little to worry about! :-) Question: Tim ------------------ |

quote: No, I haven't, but I'll look into it Chances are, if they've been in the industry for a while (and with a book I'd imagine they have), they'll have similar experiences. A lot of the industry handles things the same way as far as process is concerned. You'd be surprised how small the industry really is. Someone who was in charge of all the production at ABC Games last year is probably in charge of XYZ Games this year. Since people move from production house to production house (many are startups), a lot of the things they picked up from the established place is brought to the starter and thus ends up making the process nearly ubiquitous. So, while there are always areas for improvement...you'd be amazed how fast those changes move throughout this industry -Krylar ------------------ |

nice one Krylar and for anybody who didn't know, just a reminder about a GREAT BOOK that Krylar wrote last year published by IDIGICON entitled "Learn to Program 2D games in Blitz Basic" 2 links that used to go to the details, not sure if they're still ok though I bought the book myself and it's GREAT = especially for beginners to Blitz Basic ------------------ |
