Has anyone taken any classes at GameInstitute.com? I've just signed up for their intro to c/c++ -- I've worked with them both off and on for a while, but it's definitely not my strongest language, and that's holding me back from doing a lot. I plan on taking the Game Mathematics class in a couple of weeks when that one cranks up, too.

I'll be sure and post a followup to let people know how the class goes... In the meantime, has anyone else taken (or considered taking) them?

Hiya,

I took "Game Mathematics" from them. What I noticed most is that it's not very easy to learn game math over the internet unless you have a really solid math foundation. I would assume learning a language would be much easier though.

Our instructor missed like 2 or 3 weeks too, so that wasn't very good. I ended up dropping the class after about a month because it just wasn't working out for me.

Good luck!

I took the Advanced 3D BSP, PVS and CSG Techniques course. I had trouble keeping up, but that's not really a problem as I still get all the course notes, source code, and access to the course messageboard, etc. Great course, the only "negative" thing I have to say about that course is that they did such a good job with it, the only excuse I have left for not implementing a kick-butt 3D engine is laziness!

I plan on taking another course from them in the future, probably the OpenGL one and the Direct3D one.

I just finished up the Intro to C++ class that you're started and I really enjoyed it. Like you, I've been playing off and on with c/c++ for some time, but the class really cleared some stuff up for me. I actually haven't quite finished the last lesson or so because I've been busy with work, but the class has been great. Everything is explained in good detail (i.e. not too much, not too little) and you can get more and more indepth because the same information is presented several times (the lecure, the downloadable notes and the online notes) and each one is a little more indepth than the last.

I have a friend who is taking the game math class now and he's enjoying it.

I'm planning on taking the game math and probably the bsp one soon.
