I've taken a look at the Microsoft Public and Reciprocal licenses now that they've been certified Open Source by the OSI. I'm somewhat confused by this statement in the Reciprocal and Public Licenses: quote: Does this mean that if you bring a patent claim against a developer or a developer who's working on a derivative version of the software does that mean that you can no longer use the software, since your rights to the license are removed? All in all, the MS licenses look very nice. I may use them in the near future over a BSD or MIT license. ------------------ "Oh, bother," said the Borg. "We've assimilated Pooh." I can't see how this license differs from a million other Open Source licenses? It's good to see Microsoft finally making steps towards supporting Open Source in some form or another. Considering Steve Ballmer likened Open Source people to communists. ------------------ |

quote: Me neither. Well, just like Russia and China quietly reformed their countries to more democratic-like economies M$ is probably doing the opposite: Reforming some of it's licenses to a "communist" economy . ------------------ "Oh, bother," said the Borg.
