I wrote a simple 2d rope demo up in just a few hours. You can check it out at:
http://www.jonwarner.net/index.php?p=1_5_jon-warner--demos--games

*Note* Updated the URL link above, also I'm currently having a look into adding weights on the points, hope to have a new demo up in a week or so.

FIXED - Note: there is a slight problem with the bottom and right boundaries not being set correctly on some machines which would mean that you cannot see the rope hit the bottom or right sides. Demo still runs, you just don't get to see the rope hit the ground

This problem has now been fixed, please download again (it will be the latest version).

hehe, thanks but, I know what to do, just need to get some time to do it (10 minutes really). It's a bug I came upon a while ago for another C# project, it's actually that the screen size isn't what was expected by the program.

Wow! That was great! You need weights on the ends of some.

Do you have your server with ServerBeach.com? They had an outage at the Atlanta, GA Datacenter that cost me my Saturday in productivity.

I don't know where the servers are, but my host is Webcity.

I've been working getting collision detection and response working with the simulation. I'm yet to get the ropes themselves to collide with each other but I'm able to add obstacles (just circles atm) that the points (and therefore the ropes, and any other object ^_^) will collide and make sure not to go through it.

I've also added new objects such as circles, boxes, triangles, ropes with an attached ball, and will do a box and some other things (2d ragdoll) soon.

I hope to have a new demo up shortly and I'll try to post some new screenshots tonight...
