New version 0.7 was just released, it uses SDL now instead of ClanLib.

This reminds me about the Sheeplings game idea that had not enough interest at the time. Maybe it would be now easier to work on modifying pingus since it uses SDL.

Well just wanted to recommend this game and possibly raise some discussion on the game.
Any one else like this type of puzzle?

It would take a fair bit of work to reskin the game and create all new levels that are interesting to the point that Sheeplings surpassed Pingus in quality.

I think it's still worth considering and thinking out more -- what do you think about the workload, Jari?

Indeed, it would require dedicated artists to work on this project. But other option is to just use the penguins for Biblical allegory story, where all must be saved and not one lost. Of course we could allow completing the levels if the player is able to save the minimum amount of penguis but the message would be how every one should be saved.

Actually level graphics dont need to be changed because the levels are made out of objects but we could make some additional graphics/objects if there would be sheeps instead of penguins.
