i've already taken computer science at college and was somewhere around the top of my class (although most of the class can't even code java so i guess that doesn't mean much). actually i'm hoping my grades will get me some cash (bursaries). i'm going to be moving out on my own so i'll need all i can to survive

@dartsman: i've got 7 months until i go and plus when i'm there i'll probably have gotten a fancy desktop so i'll be able to do even more work on "the project"

to control them silly. you can't program Terminators with a 586 (pop quiz, tell me the real name of the 586 and why it isn't called a 586)

A 586 is a Pentium. I have absolutely no idea why they called it that though, aside from Intel's penchant for picking weird names.(Xeon, Celeron, Itanium...)

Wait - Penta - that means 5, so I think that may be part of it...

they wanted to name it the i586 but they couldn't get a trademark on "586" so other companies wouldn't be able to copy them. although, i remember hearing that someone had already registered "586" before they got to that point... so either way, it was a trademark issue

Ah.

These big companies and their trademarks. If it isn't Microsoft it's Sun or Intel or AMD or ...

We are sooo offtopic. Sorry.

Hard work, maybe, but regardless, I'd think it'd still be fun. You know, like Trig.

Agreed. Hard work can be fun and very stimulating, it's just a matter of capturing the right mindset ("Taking every thought captive" to put it Biblically).

you mean there are people out there that don't like fuzzy logic and neural networks???

EDIT: heres the course load for year 3 (my credits save me 2 years)
http://www.cosc.brocku.ca/offerings/third

it actually seems REALLY easy. i've studied about half of these topics already, and like i've said before i'm a Duke of Java so object oriented courses should be a freebee
