The game company I work for, Pipeworks, finally has a decent webpage. Check it out:
http://www.pipeworks.com/

Oh yeah, check the Job Opportunities section, and select Pipeworks - Eugene. We've got multiple openings: Junior Programmer, Game Programmer, Lead Programmer, and Character Rigger.

Note: the "upcoming titles" section only lists those games which have been officially announced. *wink*

Wow, sweet webpage, Steve!

It's funny -- just yesterday my wife and I were wondering if maybe I should see if there were any job openings that I could fill at a place like where you worked.

Clinto, its a pretty great company. It would be flippin' awesome if you came to work here, seriously. Pipeworks is really excellent about not overworking people. I've been here two months, and I only worked through one weekend, other than that, just 40 hours a week. I'll send you an email.

Cobra, sorry about the requirements. That's standard fare for game companies.

And Medford, and Pasadena, and Sky Valley/Palm Springs. Yeah, I lived there.

I think you missed the point mene-mene. Those places... well, they suck.

I was pointing out well known "hotbeds" of software/tech development and IT industry in the northwest.

That picture was taken shortly before I was hired. So, I work with all those people. They truly are a fun group of people.

Wow! I didn't realize how many employees Pipeworks has. I had figured 20 maximum.

No problem, I was just using the NoScript plugin in Firefox, and I'm a bit of an HTML/CSS purist . At the very least, though, it should tell the user what the requirements are if they don't meet them. Right now, it just shows a bunch of black with a bar at the top. When I enable JavaScript and Flash, it looks good, BTW.

Looks like the artist rigging position has been filled there, it isn't listed anymore. But I did send the link on to a couple people I know who are looking for work as programmers. Maybe it will help them.

Blessings to you,

Yeah, Pipeworks has been actively hiring people for a few months now, all the remaining positions are for programmers, including Junior Programmer. All you need for that is decent programming skills (emphasis on C++), math skills, and a love for games. It's a great job to break into the industry with.

That's great to hear they are continuing to hire. This is a terrific opportunity! Not to mention Steve can introduce you to his favorite coffee shop right by their office.
