This is cool. It's a free computer science course. I find it really helpful as it explains a lot of things that are related to programming. http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Computer_science_program Some more interesting topics (including Web Design, Graphic design and operating systems) are also taught. ------------------ |

Hmmm... that looks interesting. Too bad they didn't take on a game development format. I think their site would explode with activity if they covered game development studies. |

I'd probably go through some of them; no harm, eh? that and I sold my soul to the Wiki gods and am required to go to their university. ------------------ |

quote: What is “Computer Science Technology” in Canada? Is that Computer Information Systems/Information Technology (CIS/IT)? That was my minor, my major was CS - Computer Science. I'm returning soon for Multimedia (part time), either for Animation or for Imaging Concentration (i.e bitmapping, 2D design, Digital Illustration). Arts more fun |

CST isn't CIS. they actually switched my program over to that after my year but CST is more like computer science (in that there is more about higher up theory as well as software engineering) whereas computer information systems is generally (correct me if i'm wrong) more about implementation of systems, and the IT side of things. |

I was going to do a Bachelor in CS next year... to add to my Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment (Major in Games Programming)... but ended up getting a job anyway... CS would have been great, cause the IE (it isn't a standard course name, special private college) didn't go into certain topics as detailed as I would have hoped (Assembler, Graphics Programming, etc.), but then again it taught me a heck of a lot (not as much as you learn in the industry however).. ------------------ |
