EDIT:Oh, and Civilization IV uses python, for those who are wondering what python is used in.
EDIT2: Not all of civilization IV was written in python, but a lot of it was.

Linux depends on a lot of python. Especially Gentoo. The whole package manager (portage) is written in Python.

Ubuntu's Synaptic is written in Python too.

The compiler should come with the python package, in fact that's what we are talking about when we say python - python compiler and the libraries.
