This site isnt exactly fresh out of the box. Many people have left, Ive seen TONS of people who registered but never posted, or posted once or twice, but no more. ------------------ |

Once, some time ago, I went through the memberlist and toasted alot of inactive accounts. I think that alot of people see the site, think it's cool, sign up but want to make the right impression so are afriad to post. Either that or they forget. Come out of hiding and post! |

Maybe a welcome email could be sent automaticly if you join, if that isn't in use already, if not, that (might) add more welcome-ness to the site. ------------------ |

An email does get sent out to new members, but its mainly to validate the new user's account. Maybe the new users accidently (or purposely) enter the wrong email address and are not able to post because of that. ------------------ |

they wouldn't be put on the memberlist if they didn't validate. not sure why people register and don't post, but it happens everywhere. ------------------ |

Well, being on of those that don't post often, I just don't have the time at times, with school at times, and I'm not use to posting on message boards, it's alot different from, say having a conversation with someone right next to you, besides I tend to be behind in alot of these things, heck I only recently got into IMing this past winter and I don't even use it that often for socializing, but to talk to friends for help with school work =) [edit] and all of those members are probably not professional dicussion board posters like you guys I mean alot of you got unique sigs and such, it can be kinda intimidating at times but that ain't your fault. When I usually join a forum I usually don't post there until I feel more comfortable with the discussions. So like I didn't post right away on CCN, I think until more of the off topic discussions were more interesting here that's when the bulk of my post count started, because I am not knowledge-able about alot of programming terms and the deeper functions of programming, so it's imdimidating because I would like to post but I don't know anything about the subject. I also remember at first CCN would bore me alot because it was so slow, but it's seemed to pick up. ------------------ |
