Hey! I know I just registered my user but I've actually been following the site off and on for a few years.

I just set up sourceforge like site at http://source.emptycrate.com for hosting Christian software, providing subversion and wiki hosting currently. Everyone is welcome to register a site and participate in projects already on the site.

God Bless

Hi Jason,
welcome to CCN!

That's an awesome site, thank you for posting the link, I have been looking for Christian SVN hosting for a long time.

In Christ,
Jari.

I'm really not much of a webdeveloper... I started my career as a VB programmer, switched to Linux 2.5 years ago. I currently do LInux/C/C++ development professionally, which involves some QT, some Postgres and some microcontroller development. My main hobby right now is doing some windows C# development.

The main engine on that site was done for me, it is called Savane which is a derivative of the Sourceforge code base. I just happen to know enough PHP and CSS out of necessity to get sites to look like I want them to.

I do think it needs some more tweaking, not 100% happy with the look and feel.

Oh, I really put this site up for me. The "Suite-C" projects are something I had a vision for and figured it would almost be less work to set up my own server than to register 4 projects with Sourceforge . Then I figured I would open it up to the rest of the world.

Feel free to spread the links around if you know anyone who would be interested.

God Bless

Sweet! Welcome to CCN.
Just to let you know if you don't know already, SourceForge allows Christian projects. But, its just not the same .
I'll look into it and consider registering Bible Dave (I probably won't need any hosting, though because I have plenty on SF.net for Dave's needs).
Still though, I love the idea and potential of your site!

Yeah, I'm aware that sourceforge allows Christian sofware. I actually own a few projects over there, but got tired of thier server speeds and reliability and decided I wanted something I was in a little more control over.

I debated for a while before opening this site, cause I thought, wouldn't it be better to host Christian projects on a site with more visibility where non-Christians are more likely to see them? Then I read some things where the people who own projects like Savane and GForge (another sourceforge code fork) actually think it is good to have many diverse project hosting sites. So I went for it.

Actually, you guys might be interested in this. Before I decided to switch gears and start writing open source applications software, I was working on an opensource adventure game engine.

The game world is defined in XML. Rendering engines and scripting engines are somewhat pluggable. Currently it works quite well with embedded Lua and a console rendering engine.
