NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I accadentally closed blender and lost like three hours of modeling work!!! I lost two whole models. One sucked, but the other took me like two and a half hours and I was almost done UV mapping it when the computer froze up and I lost it all!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit: Crazyishone, the really good model that got deleted was a model of that heavy assault rifle that you drew. It was like, PERFECT! MAAAN!!!!!!!! I really wish I had saved... -_- Well lets hope that this is the last time I forget to save something O_O [This message has been edited by questleader (edited February 06, 2006).] [This message has been edited by questleader (edited February 06, 2006).] |

Idk, I was just really frustrated and wanted to vent. I guess it just goes to show everyone the importance of saving... |

quote: The moral of the story is use something else that doesn't jam so easily like Mac OS X or Linux! jk. (Although that can help!) So for modeling it would be model, model, model. Save. model, model, model. Save. model, model, model. Save. once I was working on a large assignment and I was about 1 1/2 pages through a 2-3 page assignment(memory is a little fuzzy as this occured a long time ago) and I click 'save' and it saves problem is that this is saved into a temorary folder... you can probably guess what happened the next time I started msword and *tried* to load my 'saved' document *(&& thats right (*&( happened... moral of this story: save often and make sure you save to a *proper* directory... ------------------ |

sweet. although .... is the triangular shape of the launcher very practical? you might get overly critical people making a point of it. very awesome models though. It's nice to see a concept I came up with in full 3d. Do you think you'll do the sniper rifle? ------------------ |
QuestLeader Member Posts: 629 From: My house, Va, USA Registered: 04-20-2005 |
Ok, I'll look into changing that. And yes, I intend to make the sniper rifle. I am working on the HA-TT (Heavy Artilliary - Troop Transport) right now, but when I'm done with that I'll work on that sniper. Btw, do you think you could make me some more drawings? It would be VERY helpfull. Thanks, ~Chaz |

yeah. no problem. you wanna give me a general idea of what to make, or should I just wing it and see what you like? ------------------ |
QuestLeader Member Posts: 629 From: My house, Va, USA Registered: 04-20-2005 |
as long as you make it industial looking(hard edges and such) for the humans ans smooth and organic for the alien weopons... then you can wing it. I would like a few grenades too if that is at all possible. |
crazyishone Member Posts: 1685 From: Registered: 08-25-2004 |
that sounds like fun. ------------------ |
QuestLeader Member Posts: 629 From: My house, Va, USA Registered: 04-20-2005 |
Allright then, your help is grestly appreceated. I eagerly await your finished drawings =). Oh, and you only have to draw the side of them. I prefer to use my imagination some when modeling, so I like to have the front views to come up with. And one more thing... Could you make the pics a little bigger this time? The two I have now are really small, and a largr image would help. Thanks again man, you WILL be in the credits! TYVM, ~Chaz EDIT: Oh, when you finish the pictures, post them in the old concept art thread, to keep it all in on place [This message has been edited by questleader (edited February 08, 2006).] |

Doesn't Blender have an option that will save your work every few minutes? You might want to think about using that option. It might be on by default but I'm not completely sure. Check out this page and do a search on autosave Blender Tutorial. Hope that helps! [This message has been edited by HeardTheWord (edited February 08, 2006).] |

QuestLeader Member Posts: 629 From: My house, Va, USA Registered: 04-20-2005 |
Yeah bud, that'd be great! Just fix the first pic. I have someone on my side doing characters now though, so I dont need much more help. ------------------ |

So what kind of game it will be? FPS , RPG, Action?. Judging by your weapon and that alien you've modeled looks like a FPS. [This message has been edited by fearless (edited February 11, 2006).] |

Actually, it's an FPS/RTS. I know I'm kinda breaking a taboo with it, but I wanna see how well it will work out. ------------------ |
