Yeah -- if you use Firefox, get the extension ChatZilla -- it's what I use for my IRC client, and it's fantastic!

Once you have Chatzilla installed, you can type irc://irc.freenode.net/ into your Firefox nav bar, and it will open up Chatzilla and connect to the Freenode network. Once connected, you can type /join #ccn-chatzone and you'll be in! Then you can right-click on the #ccn-chatzone tab that should have opened up, and click "Join this channel on startup", so that now when you open up Chatzilla in the future, it will automatically connect to Freenode and join #ccn-chatzone.

Cheers!

I love firefox extensions. They rock! But I'm making my own IRC client for this site remember? I just can't find any good documentations on threads and I don't understand them yet. I program better if I understand what I coding.

hey, i remember now. well, here's what im thinking. hold off on that project until CCN gets its renovation over with. u wouldnt want to work really hard on it only to come to the site one day and see it all shiny and fresh.....with a full GUI and all the frequent members pre-registered and all that jazz, wouldja?

But that takes the fun out of everyting! Plus I like to re-invent the wheel to see how it rolls anyway.

Why waste time reinventing the wheel when you could be inventing something new and better, like the hover pod. Jeff

True. I just need experience. Especially here. These guys can beat me in almost any contest so I need to be experienced.

But seeing as a hover pod is not economical right now I'll try to perfect the wheel too.

If we did that then technology would never move forward. If you can write something different or better then go for it I say. Plus its a great way to learn.
