I noticed you are looking for linux distro so I have to recommend ubuntu.
That's the one I recommend for every one right now since it works so well for me, though I'm actually using kubuntu (same but with KDE, even better IMO).

Well mandrake didnt work well. Ubuntu is 95% done. Mandrake was a corrupt dl.

yah, this site is great . u will find plenty of people asking for help on their games. i warn you tho....if some new guy with 1 post comes along and says he is making a game and needs artists...u might want to avoid that inevitable downfall. u probably knew that, but w/e.lol.

MastaLlama, kiwee(?), and I are making a game at the moment, and seeing as your art skills are "good" (basically phenomenal.), we may call upon you for a second art pos., if kiwee doesnt want to do alll of it.

* make sure text is readible ( dont use purple text on blue background )
* dont use graphics that are crap ( to lossy )
* try to keep background images simple.

Heh, so am I. It seems that there always seems to be something annoying about most distros.

Right now, the biggest reasons for me not switching are that WINE is a pain to set up, and NTFS support is read-only.

And oh, yeah: games. XP has all the games.
