Quest, I used to be really nervous and shy around the girl I like, but I got past it when I put away all of the little worries of what people thought of me and I just conquered it, you just have to go at it head on, get used to talking to her. That was certainly quick to get over the first girl. QL, I just hope you do not start doing what some of my guy friends do and that is move from one girl to the next, but not saying you are or will. I pray that you are not moving to quick, seeing as you are only 15, but yeah I am certainly praying that this will work out the way you want. Just remember that you should not purue a relationship unless there is the possibility of marriage, because that is just a good way to hurt people, trust me I know all about being hurt. Hmm... to be truthfull, im starting to have my doubts now. *sigh* This is gonna turn out just how my last relationship did... ending within three days. Man, this sucks. I need to really start praying about things. Seriously though, I don't really need a girlfriend for a while, its just that... I can't help wanting one so ban. *sigh* Man, my life is a mess right now. PLEAS keep me in your prayers. I think... I will someday end up with the girl i started this thread about. Because truthfully, I rushed head on into this. I didn't get to know her enough (my current girlfriend). But what I whole heartedly and truthfully believe, is that its all up to God. I've been making my own decisions without consulting God first. I will certainly be praying for you, QL. And do not worry, it will work out, there is someone out there for you, but you need to find what God wants before you find what you want. I used to feel the way you did... always wanting to be with someone special, in my case they never turned out to be very special, but anyway, I don't know if it will be encouraging or not but this is my story... if you have already heard I must apologize. See I went to public school up until I was in 7th grade, from second grade to seventh I had a girlfriend every year. Shortest was a day, the longest was three years. After I got out of the public school I started to realize there was more to life then looking for the perfect person, but that did not stop me from looking. I found someone I enjoyed being around, and I really liked her... we went on several, what she called, 'dates'. That was actually in 2002 - 2003. Around august of 2003 I got a book by Joshua Harris called "I kissed dating goodbye" I thought my mom was trying to torture me at first, then I read it and it made sense. Well I finished that one and got his second book titled "boy meets girl" it was all about courtship. I told the girl I liked of my decision to not date, but to court, which she did not understand, but I explained it in the best way I could... and she eventually understand, which I regretted at first because she pretty much dropped the friendship, and that made me rethink my decision... well I was up one night during the end of august, or beginning of september crying and praying. I asked the Lord to show me what He wants me to do, and I asked Him to help me keep to my decisions, and I had promised not to look for the perfect person anymore but instead trust I will find her when the time was right. Well on the September 15th 2003 I had gone to the YMCA because my sister had swimming class there. I saw someone there that completely changed my life, as you might guess it was Dedicatedrider. We had kind of an awkward friendship at first... mainly because I instantly liked her, and she knew it, not that I told her right away, but also my mom kept poking fun... you know what a mom does when their son likes a girl. Well anyway we got to be really good friends, then we beceame Great friends. Well I knew that I wanted to have a future with her, so I had called her dad on December 3rd of last year to ask for permission to pursue a relationship with her. Not to go into detail, but the conversation went well, and then we have been courting ever since then... I guess the moral of the story is that God wants what is best for you, even if you think you know what it is... 99% of the time you are wrong. I put aside my quest to find that perfect somebody, and to follow Him, and He now only showed me the somebody I was looking for, but he provided me with a GREAT friendship. But anyway, I think I have been rambling, and my finger is still numb from a sword fight I had the other day with DR, lol, yes I know... and she won just so everyone knows, lol. To revive this old thread... I have a new girlfriend, lol. This one though... she's different. So far she is my third. The one mentioned erlier in this thread as my girlfriend lasted for three days. One after that lasted less than 24 hours. I know what I did wrong with the first two also, the first was too young, and I rushed into the second. Both turning out bad -_-. But this one... We have been friends for a while, so I know her pretty well. And she's older than me, so I dont have to worry about the too young part Well, I just hope that this relationship can last a while and we can both grow closer to the lord through it. ~Chaz ------------------ |

If it were about a month ago I would have said congratulations for having a girlfriend, but I kind of stopped doing that... for several reasons. Not to be rude, but dude you are still 15, right? You have quite a while before you are ready to pursue a relationship. Crushes, dating... girlfriends... those are all things that need not be done, or have... not until you are ready for a futre with them. I feel as though I am heavily bashing you, and RM in the 'girls...' topic, but I get the feeling you guys listen and understand... then you get a new girlfriend, and he worries about crushes. I do not meant anything against you two, I know from what I have seen here that you both are cool people, but sometimes I feel as though my words go in one ear and out the other, or just fall on completely deaf ears. I do not say these things because I think dating is evil, it has its time and place, but 'just because' is neither the time nor the place. I say these things because I do not want to see people get hurt like I have been... and going back to the stories I have told on here... I have been EXTREMELY hurt from alot of girls... Not many people are as lucky as I am to find someone who can put your heart back together... So I think it is best not get it shattered, if you want to live and make mistakes that is fine, but you should also take heed of warning and advice offered to you by people with experience... Again, not to be rude, or meaning to bash you at all... I have just completely gotten over this whole dating scenario... I will not congratulate anyone for it anymore... not unless they have good intentions to take the relationship to marriage... but at fifteen you cannot do that... at least you have 87% chance you will not do so... It's just that I have been thinking constantly about this subject for almost a whole year, and when I try to think of something else, it's always there, looming around to come back at some later date. And I mean I don't think of dating the way most guys do at my age. I mean most of them just want someone to make out with or show off to their friends to look cool or something. I just want someone who will be there for me and I can be there for, so I can have a sense of assurance and be able to think of other things. ------------------ |

I did not mean to be rude, or imply that you acted like most guys. You know what you need to find... You need to find a BEST Friend... one who can be there for you, and one that you can be there for. I believe, stronger then anything (mainly because it happened to me) that when you find just a friend that can fit this you will stop wanting to find a girlfriend that will fit this.
