Join the 60 developers registered for the third Christian Game Developers Conference to be held in Portland, Oregon, this July 30 & 31. If you are a developer of games or are intensely interested in doing so AND you are a Christian, this conference is for you. This year, we hope to have more practical content for all, especially board, paper and card game developers. For details and to register, see http://cgdc.org If you are unable to attend, please be praying that God is mightily at work there and our industry. God bless, ------------------ |

i've just started messing with blitz basic, prob'ly won't be a full-time game developer, and might not even do CHRISTian games. but hanging out with a bunch of CHRISTian codemonkeys/geeks(no offense meant) sounds really fun. maybe next year... ------------------ |

quote: Arch - I'm debating name tags. Last year, there were too many for me to remember, I am usually good at names. I did ask for a username (which will hopefully be used for the association) but we could ask ones that are part of CCN to put their username on there. But then again, I was shocked at the cost when I went to the office supply store. It was probably going to cost ~$60 to get enough of those plastic holders for everyone. So, still debating. Cheaper option? Stickers. If I print them maybe they won't look so hokey! Benny - no offense. The term from a decade ago was "Weenie". So, "you are a software weenie" or a "hardware weenie" was a compliment. Noawadays, I just get weird looks! Still time to register. And even if you get close (wonder if Bryan is reading this?), be sure to swing by. Just show up - you can register at the venue. The only danger is that we may not have a shirt your size. Josh may even make it this year! Tim ------------------ |

Myself, Pat and our wives will be at the CGDC04 and Zookey is planning as well. We'll be annoucing our in-development title, showing off some of the game, some art, I'll be doing a talk on Saturday and we'll be readily access to talk. So come on down and take in the sites. ------------------ |

Hi All, its been awhile since i posted, been busy with real life ^_^ I think i said i got married, but if not, i did last October (deleriously happy). That is not the reason for this post. Yesterday i heard an interview on the radio, on Nation Public Radio, with Graceworks on the confrence. It's pretty exciting that you got some publicity, not just a good thing for making people think about Christian games, but also to raise the level of Validity our projects have. Congrats guys, and keep up the great and noble work. Veritech (John Stimson) PS I'm still working on my game projects, but very slowly, and in my spare time. My idea is to make a vast database for use as a background for games, and game systems (like combat, skills, ECT). Of course, as some may recall, my Genre is RPG, the style would probably be closest to Morrowind, but its all paper still (on the computer, but you know what i mean), but it may come to something. Alas, for those who have forgoten, my view was that we should make games that are moral, and Godly, not witnessing tools, so that we could sell them, and make money to suport the gospel. ------------------ |

Conference Update We survived the first day!! <Note to organizers - don't schedule a 16-hour day!> The ballots were handed out and filled in for the awards. Results announced tonight. A lot more workshops today! Be praying for God's hand to be upon us. PS Yes, I was surprised when Oregon Public Broadcasting wanted to interview me - but I don't turn down interviews (yet). ------------------ |
