To anyone interested, I've recently started an open source, community game development project. Basically, anyone who wants to join the team can do so freely and without obligation. I'll warn you that the project is in the very early stages, so there's not a whole lot of information on the website yet, but it's ideal for anyone wanting to learn more about game development. More information for those interested: - The game is open source, and will be made publicly available throughout the development phase. It will not be sold, nor will the developers be compensated (other than a name in the credits) upon completion. If you want to learn more about any aspect of game development and maybe have a little fun while you're at it, take a look at Mechaius. Hey thats really cool Onag. Is it cross-platformable as well? I'm just going to check the site out so maybe the answer is there. Anyways looks really interesting. Nice one! --D-SIPL ------------------

I wish I could say that information was on the website, but at this point there's not much there. While the game will be developed with platform-independence in mind, there is currently no one on the team using anything other than Win32. The result: Currently there are only plans for Win32 implementations of the various plugable interfaces (graphics, sound, input). Anyone who would like to help build implementations for other platforms or systems (e.g. OpenGL) is welcome. At this point, the 'team' is still very small and we're still in the VERY early stages of developing the base framework for the code. Anyone with experience would be very beneficial at this point. Thanks for your interest! I hope to see some of you at the boards in the future. You're all welcome to spread the news. -Nag |
