In a land that you have never seen, in a place not that ancent... lives me. It has been a long time (a time that I can't even remmember). I was wandering who all here remmembers me and who all here would like to hear what I have been up to.

Well I will give a little intel anyways.

1 I have another child on the way (the ultrasound person said one).
2 I have finnished editing my book at long last.
3 I also found a large publisher to send it to (second biggist english publisher in the world).
4 Perhaps my spelling as improved?
5 My phisical pains are still with me but some of my mental ones have simmerd down.
6 I hate this number.
7 The net has been really dead latly for me.

Bah- it could just be that im almost never online anymore and always busy working on my novle. Anyways I hope you guys/girls are making progress with your projects and walks with Christ. I must go now however, hope someone here replies with good news (if you have bad feel free to post).

Well too tell you guys the truth I did join up on another board for a time. They kinda killed my intrest in boards because they where so boring! It was a writers crew. Here is the rundown of what they did.

1 New person comes in say 'I am a writer and want to get published'
2 the board memmbers reply 'Hi we are writers we want to get published too'
3 they wait for another new person to come in and say 'Hi im a writer and I want to get my book published'

Do you guys see a prob there? It was like taking this place and all its activity and just redusing it down to 'Hi my name is Bildgpump and I have an idea for a game.' 'Hi Bildgpump, we have ideas for games that we want to make too.' and then just sit and wait for someone to make a game so we can jump on the bandwaggon!

Anyways I still go buy there from time to time to see if anything has happend. Well I have a little girl yelling and tugging at my shirt. I better give her some attention before she goes screeming for it

Yeah, I'm actually kind of surprised at how dead CW has been lately. During the summer and the beginning of the year you could at least have a conversation going... now it's the occasional post. It's like everybody dissapeared.

It has been quiet, for sure, but I've done my best to stir things up..er, I mean keep the conversation going..around here

I'm still checking here to read daily but didn't post for a while. Would like to see more activity here too. (Guess I should post more too.) I suspect maybe there are some projects nearing release that are taking people's time? Like maybe that top-secret TGS project? Hmmm.

Angel, what's the best Christian writer's forum? I'm thinking about asking around for an on-paper book illustrator for some b/w illustrations and a cover. Probably I'll ask around here first though!

Hi Angel, seems a few people have disappeared recently, I wonder where Silicon Chippy got to?

Anyway, I have occasionally wondered how your publishing was going, sounds like you aren't going the electronic path now?

Well Curry if you really want cover art I would suggest going here http://www.gfxartist.com/ I may go there to get book cover art done but im not so sure my contract will alow that so im waiting.

AmazingJas I think many people are finding that simply talking about things wont get them done. I could be wrong though.

OH yeah the TGS thing... Gump may have some intel on that. I see Mack on MSN off and on but he never talks to me anymore. I dont know how I got on his ignoring side, oh well.

I gatta git.

i'm alive and kicking
haven't put much time into CCN at all for some time

for the pass 2 1/2 months i've been mostly travelling
took my wife and baby to north america to see family, stayed in canada (victoria) most of the time, but often went over to US on the ferry for the weekends and some vacation times. sept was lovely weather so i was outside dirtsurfing and talking with the locals, had some good sharing the gospel experiences and met up with some cool christians.

last week i flew to germany for 3 nights to lead a muslim friend from iran to the Lord and help him find a good english speaking church. that was awesome, but very tiring , as i then flew back to north america, had to pack up my hotel, pack up my family and fly back to New Zealand. that trip took about 45 hours including driving 7 hours , ferries 2 hours, waiting in airports 12 hours, nd flights 12+10+2. So utterly exhausted (7th month old baby didn't like that much travelling ) but so happy to be home and back with friends and local church.

Don't worry Angel I haven't forgotton about you, fantastic to hear on the news and yes I do notice that your spelling has improved alot. Are you taking some various courses on improving your writing skills? (I know some writers that are doing that so they can try to gain some hints) Is the baby a boy/girl or are you going to keep it as a surprise? Any plans on baby names like Mackenzie? j/j

Oh, dude, sweet, Angel's back. I can't believe it's taken me 4 days to notice this thread. Then again, perhaps I can. For the past few months or so, maybe longer than that, I have been only casually browsing this site, reading only the threads that looked interesting to me. When I had first come to CCN (like, 2 years ago) I read almost every single thread that came up. I dunno, it seems like a lot of the life has gone out of this place. Hardly any of the original members post anymore (like me). More and more n00bs keep coming in, and not enough people who actually know what they're doing. Of course, I shouldn't be the one to complain, I'm still sort of a newbie to coding too.

And yes, Angel, your improved spelling was the first thing I noticed when I started reading this thread. To that, I just wanna say: right on!

As for how my life has been doing, let me give a brief(ish) rundown.
I am now a college boy, w00t! I'm living at George Fox University, located in Newberg, Oregon. I chose it because it's a Christian college, yet at the same time, fully accredited. It rocks. That's just all there is to it. I love the heavy Christian atmosphere; it just allows me to instantly connect with anyone on campus at a deeper level.

I am finally taking some real programming classes. Back in high school, the programming classes were kind of a "learn at your own pace" thing. So, as you might expect, we didn't learn very quickly. But here, the teachers are very knowledgable and they actally teach you the value of proper coding style, something I didn't get anything of in high school.

But yeah, anyway, George Fox rocks. And it's totally all because of God that I'm even here. We (my family and I) didn't have enough money, and we thought we weren't going to make it, but at the last minute (like, two weeks before classes started), the college gave us just enough aid for us to pull through, for this year anyway. We still have no idea how we're going to pay for the next few years. If you care, please pray for me and my family. If you don't care, that's fine, I wouldn't really expect you to. This is just an online post board anyway, it's not like we know each other personally.

Well, anyway, I gotta go, I have work study to do.

Can the life be brought back here? I think it's good for Christian programmers to talk together. In fact there are a lot more out there and this place could probably be busier if more people knew about it. Maybe targeting more groups of programmers (different languages and IDEs) would help.

There is a need for coming together. It's a bit complex, and if you try to stick it into one box it may not fit and there may be unnecessary discouragement as a result. I think it's not just about specific coding help, or design help, or advice/help wanted, or other discussions about different topics, or general camaraderie. It's all of those things and maybe some more. I like it and I think there's a lot of value in it. Different people may have different goals and expectations for the fellowship, but there's a lot of potential, maybe if we look a little wider than our own first preferences.

I guessed that a near-release or new opportunities might be tying some people up (I've seen that happen many times) but not sure. If not, that says something even worse for the state of participation. Maybe if we try to identify the reasons and consider what we can do about it, we'd be further along.

More people here tend to have a real life than, say, the Game Maker forums, which tends to be filled with kids without a life . . .

So, yeah, it's not unexpected that people come, people leave, people come back . . .

Yeah, supporting more types of programmers is good. I would be willing to help anybody with Java questions.

Sorry Gump, I tend to scan read and sometimes miss the point. Perception is a strange thing, just because I had not posted here for a while I thought others hadn't. All the best and I hope I didn't offend you. I was replying more to the later posts like"Can the life be brought back here?" from Curry

'Actually' is a word sometimes used to put a point across with attitude. I thought you were offended. After reading your' post I realise you didn't mean it that way. When you speak directly with a person, you have got so many signs to go on, with just text I sometimes misinterpret it.

I agree, tbh there hasn't been all that many projects that have been seen right throught to the finish on here.

The whole process isn't easy, and i think this is largely because people try to run before they can walk, get frustrated and can the project.
