Hiya, I've spent a few hours a night working on this and I believe it's working now. <gulp> If you go to the main articles page you'll see a new heading near the top that will allow you to add/manage articles. In this you can add a new article (you will have to know the basics of HTML to do this!), you can upload graphics and files (.zip, for example) to support your article...this is NOT to be used for anything else please. You can control when an article is published and you can also unpublish an article. Now I'm sure there are problems in this as it's a first release, but hopefully it will be decently solid. Just in case I'm going to backup all of the current articles. Please start sending in them thar articles now Thanks! -Krylar ------------------ |

btw...old articles aren't in there yet. I'll work on that as I can. -Krylar ------------------ |

Crap. Now I have to live up to my word and make some articles. Just kidding, this will be fun! I'll get started this evening. Thanks for implementing this, Krylar. I really think it will be *really* beneficial for the site overall. |

Krylar! The article submission system is AWESOME!!! You should think about packaging it and selling it, other sites would LOVE this. One small problem: images require the word IMAGE to be in uppercase, but when you go back into edit mode, it changes the image end-tag to lowercase, which breaks the images and can even muck up the format of the page if you resubmit without manually changing them back to uppercase. Can this be changed so it's case-insensitive or something? Just a minor request. AWESOME!!! OK, gotta go, I have an article to finish... |

Hiya, Glad you like it! It was fun to code, but I'm sure there'll be some tweaking to be done. I don't understand why the /IMAGE would be changing like that. I'm literally doing NOTHING with any of the tags except when an article is displayed, and that only changes what is sent to the browser...nothing in the actual .html file is changed. As a test I went through and added a few images throughout one of my test articles and I didn't see the end tag drop case. Can you give me a step-by-step of how you get this? Thanks! -Krylar ------------------ |

Email sent. Hey, articles would be quicker to write if I didn't have to explain everything along the way. |

Should be all set now. Actually, I'd forgotten all about the image and file tags when displaying the PUBLISHED versions...oops. That's all fixed up now, though Thanks again...can't wait to see that first article. I sure hope it works! haha. -Krylar ------------------ |

Wow, I like it. Very cool. Pretty powerful, but it has poetential to be pretty dangerous as well. An unscrupulous person could take advantage of the automatic-submission system in a very bad way. †Caleb† ------------------ |

Agreed, but I figure that it's no worse off than what someone could do on the messageboards if they really wanted to. So, if it comes to that, then I'll delete and ban the person...and, if warranted, pursue legal action. Hopefully it won't come to that -Krylar ------------------ |
