I have been creating and copying CDs of a friend's sermons. I have all of the available ones in MPG format. I was wondering if there was a place where I could upload them free, so that they would be freely available to all. Any ideas? ------------------ "...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer. Pray for prayer---pray till you can pray; pray to be helped to pray, and give not up praying because you cannot pray, for it is when you think you cannot pray that you are most praying. Sometimes when you have no sort of comfort in your supplications, it is then that your heart---all broken and cast down---is really wrestling and truly prevailing with the Most High." |

I don't know about the cost, but you might check mp3.com -- I think musicians (etc) can upload their mp3's for the world to grab. It may cost, though, I really don't know. It's worth a shot, though. -Ascent |

Well, I'm not certain that they would qualify as MP3. I'm using QuickTimePro 6 to do the conversion, and the documentation says something about MPEG 4. In any case, I'm awaiting a response from Urban Mueller as to whether or not he will create a new AmiNET directory mods/spokn for things such as sermons, speeches, seminars, lectures, etc. I told him in my enquiring email that input from others would be needed to achieve a balance of viewpoints. We shall see, though. We shall see. ------------------ "...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer. That's a pretty cool idea Bill. If I had a large amount of space I would do alot of free web/file hostings for people, guess we'll have to see in the future how that pans out. Let me know if you manage to find a webhost, I would be interested in checking the vidsermons out. ------------------ |

Actually, they're only audio; no video. ------------------ "...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer. Oh, that's OK. We record them either to CD or to cassette tape. It depends on who's in the sound booth, and who's in the pulpit. Our senior pastor always goes directly to CD. The others might or might not go directly to CD. I, however, also have a CD-Recorder in my stereo system at home, just for the purpose of recording Ed D. Kleiman's sermons to CD from audio tape. From there I plan on transferring them to MPG format (most of these are already done to that point), then find a place to put them online (without cost). So far, I have been able to do these things without charging Ed a penny and I hope to continue that practice. ------------------ "...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. I am working on a library/archive feature for my Christian.net site that will allow people to make articles, videos, photos, and audio files available in various categories. Audio files of sermons was one of the things I had in mind specifically. You could house your files there at no cost to you. Disk space isn't really an issue (it's a dedicated server with dozens of gigs of available space and room for more if needed). Bandwidth is a bigger issue, but I own the ISP where it's hosted so I get a pretty good deal on that |

You might want to let me know privately how to go about taking you up on your very gracious offer, as well as limitations, such as length of filenames, etc. Thank you so much! Wait till I tell Ed! ------------------ "...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us. He is the giver of all prayer. Well, I just went there and set up an account as Billsey. Now to gain access to the file manager. ------------------ "...prayer itself is an art which only the Holy Ghost can teach us.
