AWESOME MAN!!

I saw the title and said "No way!". I was just pondering today on if it would be released before Christmas

BlazeQ

Edit: You might put how big the demo file is on the website. Very important for us 56kers. Just so other's know, it's 33.8 MB

Finally!

Now should I be hurt that you dislike my reviews so much that you didn't want to give me an advanced copy to be working on it?? Other than that, rotten timing! I have 5 games/reviews in the queue!

You need to get the store up and running! At the very least, go to PayPal and get a Pay Now button and capture their shipping info. Look under the "SELL" tab at PayPal. Most folks won't want to hassle with mailing you an order form and check.

Congratulations to your team.

Please note that if I am to buy one, I want it fully autographed by the team. Do you have a paper manual?

Congratulations on completing a game, which is more than most of us can say we've done!

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I downloaded and played the demo and it eventually crashed with a Windows Exception in one of your DLL's :-( This was only 10 minutes or so into the game.

I like the sound effects. Creepy.

Is anybody else having trouble even running the game? I'm on Win98 with 1.2gHz Pentium 4, 384MB RAM, and an ATI Radeon 8500LE. This shouldn't be happening. The game loads fine at the menu, but then when I start a new single player game, it stays on the Two Guys Software logo screen indefinitely. I let it go for like 15 minutes, and nothing. It doesn't exactly hang, though, because when I ctrl-alt-del it, it asks me if I want to quit. Figure that one out! Also, the support e-mail in the manual bounces, so I'm just hoping that Mack will check here.

A little dark for my tastes, but I'm not a big fan of FPS games anyway . . .

Hopefully a good alternative to more secular stuff. Mouse acceleration might be a little too slow, but it doesn't seem to be as twitchy as some of the other games I've tried. Then again, I barely played it; I'm sure the later levels are more difficult.

Just a first glance judgement.

You can adjust everything in the options menu area to suit your tastes if you like.

Ok, I just whipped together a patch for the demo:

+) Changed start up demo screen and added "Press Space to Continue" message
+) Changed the support section in the Players Guide to direct support towards: tgssupport@twoguyssoftware.ca
+) Included recent demo build (old one was in, woops!)

I'll be adding the patch to the installer and updating the demo soon as well, so users don't have to download two things.

Nope, you and CCGR will both be getting free copies to review very soon.

Finished the demo last night

It reminds me of Quake a lot and some of doom (those hoards of demons and the speed at which I can run ). The texture work is very good in places (haven't studied everything too much) and a few of the bad guys are well done (remind me of Quake/Unreal). The animation could be better, but it passes

The most original are the weapons. Smite is definatly my favorite, the crossbow coming in second (It's cool, you kill a goober with some arrows and the arrows stick in the air. Another goober comes along and impales himself on them . A mistake, I know, but it's a neat twist).

Thanks for your comments BlazeQ! We were aiming for a 'pick-up-and-go' style of action game. Where you can play for any amount of time and have fun.

The demo would not work on either my home machine or my work machine. At home, it crashes accessing my OpenGL video drivers (ATI Radeon on WinXP), and gives an error message. At work, it just changes resolution, then dumps out without any error message at all (Intel 82845G on Win2000).

I have downloaded the source code, and have started debugging. I will let you know what I find, but I likely won't get back to debugging it until the weekend.

Thanks for your help BrianT! I got your e-mail explaining the bug you encountered and we'll get on it. A great thing with releasing the source code was things just like this, hopefully we'll be able to nuke these bugs and make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Hmm didn't realize there was a thread about EW going on here at CCN. Guess I should pay a lil more attention ^_^. Sooo I'll write a few things here that may be a tad redundant so bare with me please .

Game Difficulty:
If the demo seems far too easy then go into the options menu and pump the difficulty up to hard or nightmare level. We made easy and normal difficulty modes quite simple. Most demons will die in a few shots in these modes and their response times are slowed down, they will likely not dodge any of your attacks, etc. We did this so that the game could literally be picked up and played by just about anyone, even someone with no FPS experience at all. For some true difficulty definitely try hard or nightmare ^_^.

Bugs Bugs Bugs:
The biggest suggestion I can make is make sure you have latest video drivers for your system and latest version of Direct X. On to other things I got the email from Brian that was sent to Mack and located the problem area you spoke of Brian. I've implemented the same hack that you did but it still just baffles me that a few people are having a problem at this spot and then it works fine for everyone else.
