Man, I've had these days with my linux box. Sometimes the power management subsystem works, other times I can't bring the system back from standby mode and I have to flip the power off and boot back up ( you know it's a pain with the disk check that ensues, whatever your OS is). Other times (just after I've installed a new kernel) I can't even log in properly (or mount the root filesystem!) and I have to reinstall 200 Mb of the core RH 7.0 distribution just to get access back to my files. And that's not mentioning how many times that I've had to get the printer subsystem working again, or the new versions of KDE and XFree86. Sometimes its a pain isn't it! Yet, it really makes you appreciative of a box that works properly!  joeG |
