Hey everyone Josh here----I was wondering---I have never used any kind of Linux before (I only have used Windows at home and Mac when I was in High School)---there is a distro of it available for PS3 and I was wondering if any of you have used that distro before (it is a build of yellow dog or something like that--a pre-existing PC one that was modded for the PS3 architecture) because I am balancing the pros and cons to downloading it--one side is my PS3 would be a sweet PC but the other is I don't know Linux that well and 60 Gigabytes is kind of a small HDD for a pc (I know I can upgrade it but I don't have the funds right now)---so what is your opinions on it?

60 GB is plenty. I have 53 gb total, between 2 drives. I've never had a problem. You just have to shed pat-rack habits. Don't like that song? Delete it. Cache? Clear it.
It all adds up.

Anyway, it'd be a good way to "learn linux" if that interests you at all. But honestly, what is the point of using the ps3 as a PC? You clearly own one already.
This is more a question directed at sony I guess.

Yellow Dog is an old and quite good distro. I haven't used it on the PS3 but I have installed it on a Mac and was quite impressed.

O ok cool LOL--I might try it then--my main motivation was that there is possibly code snippets on the net to make some games (PC) work on Linux and-thusly-PS3---if I could play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on my TV (I am addicted to fair rides) then that would rock--but even being able to do office-type work on my PS3 would be fun if I wanted to type something and didn't have access to my PC or didn't want it on my PC--thanks for the info---once I have enough time I will give it a shot!
