i know that things that work in one browser dont always work in another...but i am having trouble gettin the background color the same. digitaldisciple.tk or freewebs.com/digitaldisciple

when viewed in IE, the bg color is white, the borders are solid, and the chat box is freakishly skinny.

when viewed in firefox, everthing is as it should be. the bg is grey, the borders are grooved, and the chat box is the right size. you may notice it looks like it is written by a noob, but thats cuz i am and this is the first site i wrote using html and css. please help me...

Hi crazyishone.
Try using a html validator at http://validator.w3.org/ to find out all the problems. I ran that validation check to my site as well and it gave a lot of errors but now when they are fixed, firefox and IE renders both correctly.

I tried validating your site and it gave 20 errors.

God bless.

yep, i fixed it.

apparently the word "grey" wasnt good enough for both browsers. I had to use the hexadecimal code in order for it to work. i am learning.....
