Okay, I have a geocities.com "website". I am trying to attach one of my C++ programs to it so that when the link is clicked on, people can download it. Does anyone know how to do this?? When I tried, it said I couldn't upload .exe or .cpp files to the site and when I tried something else, it said something like invalid c protocol or something...any help??? ------------------ |

Okay, scratch that one too. I just made the file into a .zip file and it allowed me to upload it! Okay, you can just delete this topic....it is pointless now. ------------------ |

Web servers are cheap now and so is domain name registration. I would just suggest getting your own web site domain name and server. You can get 1 gig of space and 25 bandwidth for $5 or so a month. And you can get 20 gigs and unlimited bandwidth for 10 a month. Domain names cost about 8. So for around $50 a year you can your owns server, a gig of space or more. As well as your own email addresses and so on. I was so happy when I got my server, it was so much nicer than looking for an Ok free one. Jeff ------------------ |

Yeah, I dropped the free business a while ago. Ever since Yahoo took over, GeoCities went downhill - they kept dropping more and more features . When they announced they were dropping FTP support, I dropped them completely. By then I had a good parttime job, so I looked around and got myself a good pay server. ------------------ Switch Mayhem now available! Get it here |

No kidding. I used to use 50 Mgs free. But when they dropped the FTP I was screwed. The FTP is the most important thing in my opinion. Well if any of you need a small amount of server space for something I could let you have some of mine. Jeff ------------------ |
