We at OutCast Magazine are looking for writers who can write articles concerning these topics. You don't have to be a good writer or a native English speaker; we are willing to work with "rough" writers. Although we cannot pay for articles, we offer complementary issues, and of course, publicity . Most of the articles we will publish are between and 800, and 2000 words but we can be flexible in either direction. We prefer articles to be original but if you think you have a really good one that has been published elsewhere in English, and if you have the rights to allow another company to publish it, we will take a look at it. We want to publish game reviews from both Christian and non-Christian perspectives, game engine reviews, game programming tutorials (in various languages and engines), interviews with both serious and indie game developers, feature articles related to games and game console or computer hardware, and fact-based commentary directly related to gaming, or current evens in the game world. We’re especially interested in reviews and intervies of indie games and developers. Below is a list of what we would really like to have. You can write an article that falls into any of these categories or use it as inspiration to write something related to anything in this list. To submit an article query and/or idea please reply to this thread. Programming

Hey CPU you know my email addy hehe! I would be willing to do PS3/PS2/PSP reviews once in a while as well as the occasional opinion piece---as long as it wouldn't be a journalistic conflict of interests (ie so it doesn't look like I write for you guys in return for favorable/non-sincerely positive coverage)---if you guys are interested hit me up! ------------------ |

quote: Sure thing! We can separate the interview from your article by several months. But you can email me about an article now (if you wanted), write it and submit it by December, say, and we could keep it until we're ready to publish. PM/send me an email concerning the game whenever you're ready. ------------------ "Oh, bother," said the Borg. "We've assimilated Pooh." I might be interested too. I have written articles before and I enjoy it. I was thinking about writing a short story and trying to make a video. Mac and PC walk into a resturant, arguing about how nothing they write is compatible. Linux: Hello I am Linux and I will be your server today PC: I know that you are on OS like us, so I cannot be compatible with you. MAC: Unless you can play music . . . . Linux: I assure you gentleman that I can do all this and more. . . (I think that may have been off topic a little, but it does show my writing style) ------------------ If you ain't in the forums, you in the againstums :) |

quote: LOL then the mac busts out and goes 'OH WAIT!!!! I can save the day! First of all, I am just a propietary glorified version of Linux and, with the help of superhero VMwareFusion-man I can run Linux, Windows and myself all at the same time----oooooh SNAPU!!!!!!' LOL JK man----altho I have to say I have been irreversably converted to the cult of Mac--I use VMware to dual boot WinXPpro64bit for when I need it Although, the more people signing up to write for this mag the better---one thing I would HIGHLY reccomend is you go pick up an AP (associated press) Style Guide---it will help you understand journalism a little better (I was a 3 year staffer--2 of those Opinion Editor--of my High School Newspaper--hehe one year we took 7th in the nation!!)----one thing that bugs me about most journalism today is they totally disregard the AP rules--and those AP rules weren't set up as a god-like force but rather to promote professionalism ---one case in point is that, if you are reporting news, you keep your opinion out of it--that is what opinion sections are for---most news reporters today don't do that they will interject opinion with fact--the reason that is bad is it misleads the viewers and uses a bully like tactic (if you don't agree with me you are Un-American/stupid/not-with-the-popular-crowd/whatever else you can fit here) when the News' section job is to inform the populace so they can make an informed opinion on their own---so long story short your average high school journalist is more professional than a multi-millionaire on TV hehe! Side note: Bill Gates and Steve Jobs both walked into a bar and said ouch! ------------------ |

Aren't game, game engine and technology reviews/previews the opinion of the author based on a set of guidelines (visuals, price, etc...)? |

@cpu I have not been able to PM outgoing for some time. PM your email add and I can reply from there. The saga continues: UNIX(interrupting): Wait everyone, I think I am a propeitary operating system and therefore everyone is based ever so loosely on me, so my code is the basis of all your code so therefore I am better. WINDOWS: That can't be true UNIX, everyone knows that all operating systems were written in visual basic. . . . ------------------ If you ain't in the forums, you in the againstums :) |

quote: Previews and Reviews are under the Opinion umbrella--they don't count as news--so that is a correct statement hehe ------------------ |
