Hiya guys! I handle my church's website department and ** now we were using a site called http://www.sermonsonline.com. Very good site for all our audio files. NOw the site has been down for almost 2weeks and all our sermons are also down obviously. I have decieded to host all our sermons but I need a software that will do as much as sermonsonline does or even better. Looking for a software that can upload our sermons with the following features: Preaher's Name, Message, Verse, Date, Sermon Notes and sermons stats. Does anyone know of any software that can do this or anyone who can design one for me? Kind regards. |

Hi Ishi! Welcome to CCN! Have you looked at Sermon Audio? Does that site meet your needs? We're very glad to have you here. --clint |

Hi Ishi, I see.. You mean you are trying to host it locally. I've spent about 5 minutes googling for an all-in-one software package for sermon handling and its doesn't seem to exist. Most of the churches I googled, (including my own church) use a Content Management System, like drupal or joomla, or it was a hosted service or a custom site. A CMS is a generic piece of software though and will not be the turnkey solution you are looking for. As for the members of the CCN community building this for you. That would be great if someone has a lot of time to invest. I have a good seven years experience in web programming and know that this would be a fairly large and involved project. (I personally do not have the time to invest.) God Bless!

Thanks Sam, I have done quite a lot of search as well. I have looked at both CMS drupal and joomlaI, but my site isn't based on cms and I really wouldn't mind paying for this project provided its not very expensive. |

Hey Ishi! Welcome to CCN! The biggest issue you're going to find with hosting your own solution is your bandwidth. If you have a bunch of people streaming the sermons (should be a good thing right?), you could quickly use up your website's bandwidth allotment and your hosting provider could charge you out the steeple for it. Also, if you're on a virtual server, you may want to check with your hosting provider to see if they'll even allow you to stream massive amounts of content from your site. I maybe could put something together for you, it would be in ASP (requiring a windows server with IIS) but I would need a list of things you must have functionality wise. As Sam said, I could se this being a large project...building a system like that from the ground up. |

Thanks ccn, My hosts allows streaming and I dont do ASP. PHP is far suitable for me. |

i was trying to do something like that but in php for someone a while ago i am not a php expert so maybe someone else can help you too but if i get finished doing that i'll give you the code. oh and all you need is to upload files and host them right? ------------------ Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
