I am recruiting people for a christian game project. I want to build a christian text-based game if God want it too. So I am recruiting people who might help with the project. I hope there are people around these forums who can help me with this project.

The website has no real lay-out yet, because that is where I fail everytime. I hope there are webdesigner who feel called to help. I have some good thought about the game and I am currently programming it. The game must be christian I think because I could not believe there where no christian games possible. I was thinking of a game in the promised land. Lots of events are possible if you look at the bible. I was thinking of a harvest moon farmer idear. It has a good thing in it and never been used in a text-based game.

I used to build another website. Crimetime, the opposite of what christians should make... A bad way of spending time with you talent. I saw this after a while too and stopped the building progress of crimetime and closed the website. I had 2200 registered people, so a big success. I did make it all alone, it went quite well, but I think it would be even better to work together with other Christians.

Glad to hear that you're so interested in making a Christian-based game -- a large number of community here are very interested in that very topic.

Text game eh? I recently wrote a very flexible MUD server that could support something like this, but you mentioned PHP, so I'm thinking you might want to make something that's played through a webpage. I know you said that you already started programming it, but one multiplayer text-game interface that I've been messing with (and happen to really like) is DutchPIPE. I think it's an extremely cool platform, and I keep wanting to write a game with it.

You mentioned that you're Dutch -- interestingly enough, DutchPIPE is written by a Dutchman named Lennert Stock, so you would have an easy time of getting questions answered in your native language. Lennert is a really cool guy -- extremely talented, and very friendly and welcoming.

This is what my current thoughts are, maybe interesting for you all:
Current thoughts:

- A farmer type of game, you are the farmer, own a field, plant crops, water crops, harvest crops
- Own your own animals
- Buy land
- Buy different seeds
- Sell your crops
- Hire people who help at the farms
- Your ranking does not depend on you property, but on the amount of happiness you can give to people around you. If you have much property you can make more people happy, so it has to do with it. This ranking system is different from other games. Love eachother!!! No game could start this, but the more good you do in this game the better ranking you get.

I don't really see any option for PM at this board but please let me contact you. Do you have MSN? I like to make an account for you, so you have your own account, it would be a little easier . I am really happy with your offer of helping me with the design . I really needed someone for the designing of the website and I thank God that he encourage me to go on by your help.
As you can see I can script PHP/MySQL/CSS/Javascript ... PHP/MySQL the best, CSS isn't that hard :P and Javascript, I am getting a little better at it (Now using AJAX, its very usefull!).

i like to update you a bit. I changed a lot for my text-based game. I still coded everything alone and the design I made myself too. But offcourse God gave me the gifts to produce this , so absolutly not alone.

Updates 5 August 2007:
- Fixing bugs with new server (host)
- My Lands works more flexible now and has a little bit better code
- Seeding in combination with My Lands works!
- My Lands has now THREE new options: Watering, Removing weed and Harvesting. And yes, they all work already!
- My Staff totally build up with table with workers and with hiring form.
- Admin section: Daily Update ... This means your crops will grow and the wheater in your lands will change. Now there is a secret calculation which calculates how much your crops will grow. The Daily Update is manual at the moment, but as soon as the rounds will begin I will make it automatical (which is possible at my hosts side).
- Numberous exceptions with My Lands page are solved. This means no two workers on one tile or no two jobs for one worker.
- Database tables are changed in many ways, so it all works.
(- Total new design
- New icons ... sun/weed/water
- New bars ... sun/weed/water)

- Updating wheatertypes for better realism also promipedia has been updated, so please check the changes for the wheater there.
- Buy lands is moved to Market for extra space in the My Lands part.
- My lands has now a few changes in the interface, ill hope you can handle that :P
- Hamericon added when someone is worker on tile
- Reply option created
- Messagecenter has new icons (read, reply and delete)
- Also within the ranking page you can click to send someone a PM
- Within the ranking page it is now possible to see if someone is online or offline. Accuracy of 5 minutes if someone does not log off.
