Have been looking into resellers etc. We really need to get hold of a copy of Max 7.x or 8.0. What is the best way we can find this product? It seems so hard to find. Autocad site seems to only sell it's latest 9.0. Is anyone able to help us?

Thanks.

Yeah, I uh sent an email to them about resellers last year and they responded saying that they officially do not use resellers. Fact of the matter is they are the only ones to license and it is never transferable, not by resellers and not even like a used license. I've seen some sites selling 3D Max for a discount and sent the list to Discreet and they said they were pirating their product.

Any particular reason you are looking at Max? Personally I'm not a fan of 3D Max, but in some circumstances I understand that it is a requirement for certain projects or development studios, though in those cases they usually flip the bill. Good alternatives are XSI (if you have XP/Vista Pro), LightWave and trueSpace.
