I'm have started to work on a RTS game. I am looking for people to join the team. At this stage there's work only for programmers. I think two programmers will do. Although there will be some amount of learning involved I'd like to work with someone that is already comfortable with C++.
I have started to use OSG so that'll be our rendering engine. Feel free to ask questions.

Calin.

I'm not super interested in an RTS, but I would help with what I could, except I don't know MUCH C++.

BTW, are you guys going to have some sort of graphics? Mene, I'm sure you could probably work on their interface or if you're confident about graphics you could do their main graphics.

NanoStorm (subject to change) is a Real Time Strategy resembeling Wacraft/Starcraft and featuring upgraded gameplay. The game will have improved interface and unit AI.
It has a SciFi theme, the plot is set in the near future. There are three races engaged in a war. The first version will have multiplayer gameplay only.

Mene*2: At this point I can't tell you much. It depends on what the other members of the team will say.

No the player will have to imagine everything like in a text RPG =]. There will be graphics and we will need help with that but graphics aren't the biggest concern at this stage.

I see what you mean, the main reason I asked is from what I've seen, it's uncommon for game dev leaders to ask for only programmers (not that there's anything wrong with that), so I assumed you either had really basic graphics or they were already made, plus I was just thinking of outlets for Mene to help with

It is pretty easy to come up with holdplacers while you're working on the game structures. Once you have something working you can think of graphics. One of the reasons to not have artists straight from the start is that it takes effort to manage them and your image of what you need is not too clear. The last thing you want to do is tell your artist he must redo his work.

I'm not sure of how much use i could be (due to time constraints and possible inexperience depending on the system) but if you need any assistance then don't be afraid to come knocking.

Thanks Jestermax, how can I get in contact with you?
My email is

Right now I'm figuring out how various stuff works in OSG(OpenSceneGraph). I find it has the best balance between flexibility and ease of use (and I need a lot of flexibility for what I'm trying to achieve). If you don't want to get dirty with OSG you can do something else.

You can make that 'fancy' image in Paint in less than 15 seconds. I had the image hosted on GooglePages (which you can use too since you have a google account). To make the image show on CCN use the [IMG] tags

you can host whatever you want. You have a 100 MB limit per site though. You can have 5 sites per account so that's a total of 500 MB.

Any one else is interesting to join the team? I think another programmer would be enough for a start up team. We could also use someone to help with the story-line and tech tree writing
