I thought that somebody interested in breaking into the game industry but not capable/willing to move would be interested in this:

Thanks for the links Gump. Although I don't qualify for a lot of these jobs, I still like dreaming about them .

Just for kicks:

Be 18 (don't pass)
Have a Second Life compatible PC or MAC (pass)
Have broadband access (ify pass)
Speak and write English fluently (pass)
Cool-headed and able to give a quick assessment of complex situations (most likely pass)
Have some coding or scripting experience, or have experience in community conflict resolution (pass)
Demonstrated ability to think creatively on the fly and often at a fast pace (pass)
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills (pass)
Bonus points for a second language, particularly German, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, French, Korean or Italian (pass)
Have spent time in Second Life (ideally 6 months or more, or a great deal of time in-world in a shorter time frame) (don't pass)

Oh well, my time will come.

if the world wasn't full of A) pedofiles/stalkers and B) unintelligent and fake people then a 3d myspace would rock.

The fake, unintelligent people are the worst because they're the majority. The stalkers and pedophiles are a minority.

I wanna try Second Life (just for kicks) but I'm too lazy to install it and I don't think it would run well on my internet connection.

I tried it. played it once. uninstalled it.
just bored me.
I do have friends in the real world, so I don't need second life.

I'll second that. But I did hang around enough to attach a blue flaming particle effect to my bald head. That is one kinda cool thing.. you can code in the environment. Still its limited and klunky. esp. the modeling system. When I realized (quickly) that I was wasting my first life, I ditched second life.
