Visions is a 3D graphics MMORPG set in the 2nd century holy land currently in development. The MMO game is a persistent world where players will have opportunities to experience history in a dynamic virtual environment. In this quest and skill based game, characters will be able to learn a profession, encounter native flora and fauna, obtain a mount, maintain a house, create items, belong to a social structure, and play with their friends. More information is available from the website http://www.visionsgame.com

Visions is being created entirely with a volunteer team using the Torque Shader Engine. We are expanding our team to increase production speed, and need more people for all positions. Visions is being produced by Heaven's Blessings Tiny Zoo, a privately owned small start-up company registered in the state of Oregon. All work done for the Visions project will qualify for resume experience.

Volunteers work from their own homes, on their own time, using their own tools and equipment. To apply, please fill out the job application online at.
http://www.visionsgame.com/HBTZ_Application.htm Beginners are encouraged to apply as well.

We need:

Game Programmers: Should have a valid TSE license and be proficient in one or more of the following...
C++
Torque Scripting
HLSL
MySQL
PHP
World building

Artists: (may use any art creation software they are comfortable with, Milkshape, Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, Lightwave, Greenbriar, etc. as all models have to be converted to Torque format anyway.)
2D concept artists
3D Modelers - character, architectural, special FX
3D Texture Artists - Normal Mapping, UV wrapping, Skinning, etc.
3D Animators - should be capable of rigging and animating all types of models

Quest Writers:
Must be able to draw upon creative energy to generate compelling and exciting game content according to the needs of the game design, and work within the parameters of the technical requirements.

Researchers:
Must be able to check in online daily for research needs as they arise, may use online, or text resources.

Musicians:
Must have own recording and digital translation equipment and the ability to work within the specific needs of the game, namely using the sounds of ancient instruments to create an immersive environment. Music will be submitted in .OGG format for use in the game. We will NOT be using modern electronic, rock, rap or conutry sounds.

Recruiters:
People willing to generate interest in the game and to help find more volunteers to work on the game, so that we can increase production and get this game launched in a timely manner.

If you are interested in helping in any of these positions, please contact me. And PLEASE add me to your trusted list so that my reply to you does not get lost!

Blessings to you,
Sparkling

*SIGH* It will not let me correct the typeo in the title, nor will it let me delete the post and start over.

I'm sorry. Yes, I make mistakes too. Please don't hold that against me.

Blessings to you,

Torque is a pretty good MMOG platform, in that it is an affordable complete game engine. I mean complete in that it's not just a rendering engine, but it handles graphics, input, resource management, network synchronization, and client/server separation. It's built from the ground-up for high-performance multiplayer games, and it's not too much of an extension to get it rolling for an MMO. It has a large community, several books written about it (3 that I own), and, as mentioned earlier, the price point is quite affordable and the licensing is un-obtrusive. It even has a full-fledged commercial MMORPG that has been created with it called Minions of Mirth -- so it's proven technology.

Kaneva is a good engine to use as well from what little I've seen.

From everything I've seen of Sparkling's game, it looks like a good project. She is a dedicated, prayerful leader and has put a lot of time into writing a very thorough design document.
