I have been having trouble exporting from Blender. Whenever I export into .X or .3ds some of the faces are clear. Does anyone know what is wrong?
And just for reference this is what it looks like in Blender. Many thanks ------------------ |

I expect that you've got those set up as two-sided faces within Blender, but they export as single-sided faces. You need to flip their normals. Select your object, hit tab to enter edit mode, then hit a to select all of the faces (if they aren't already). Then hit F9 to go into the Editing menu, then it should be in the second sub-window titled "Mesh", there should be a button there called "Double Sided". Un-click that, and it will let you see the faces now that they're disappeared. Then I think you can do something like Ctrl-N, and it will recalculate all of the faces in the model to face outwards. Confirm the box, and make sure that your faces are all visible now. It talks about this problem a little bit in this tutorial. I think you can also flip those normals one at a time with an option in the specials menu (w-key). I hope that helps! In Christ, |

Why do you ask? ------------------ [This message has been edited by LAVA (edited November 03, 2006).] |
