I've posted previosely about this on CCN. I wish to create a Christian RTS game. The game will have combat and weapons like any other RTS. It will have a Christian inspired theme though. I don't have a full working story yet but it will emphasis christian virtues in a subtle manner.
The reason I'm posting this here is I can't do it all myself. I have a real job so I can`t put 8 hr/day on this project. Even if I could I don't think I could go far on my own. So I'm asking if anyone would be interested to work on this project. At this stage I'd need the help of a programmer and an artist.
We`re not starting from scratch, I have a half-way engine made. So far I have a rendering engine, support for user input, GUI, picking functions and some other things. Basically we could put up a simple RTS game in less a month. BTW I don't have any artwork done (i.e. soldiers, tanks etc). I can make some terrain models/maps though.
If you are interested, reply or email me at calinegruNOSPAM@yahoo.com, (without NOSPAM). Basically I'm looking for someone who has at least some experience in gamedev/programming. I'm using C# for engine. If you`re familiar with C++ only that's fine too.

Calin.

Right now the main missing part is AI. As soon as we have this we'll have units that can walk and engage in combat with other units.
As an artist you'll have to make the units, buildings and GUI things.
I have code for loading meshes and animations in .X format. The easiest thing is to use this format for art import.
Basically you only need a modeling program and some experience with modeling. I'd rather have someone that has done this before. I mean someone that has the basics on modeling. If you're just starting up and wish to join that's ok, I'd still need someone that's not a total newbie then.

I'm not looking for seasoned veteran. If you've made *something* that a start already. What did you do so far?

Well, at least it's a start. I've sent you a PM with some questions.

fearless, you might try thinking up some additional ways of generating interest in the game. Develop the storyline, perhaps advertise on some other sites for a volunteer who develops game ideas, or a writer (if you don't have time.) Also, (these are just ideas), consider making a real simple game that can grab people's attention, and you will get some help out of those people. When producing things with volunteers, a finished product will do more for you in gathering helpers than a partially-finished product, even if the partially-finished product has cooler graphics and features. Another "middle step" to your vision might incorporate an animation of the game. That is, get some of the art assets finalized and have an animator create a demo, or a programmer create an animation of what the game would be like if a person were playing it. Hope it helps.

Thanks for advices/encouragement JeTSpice. I have some well defined ideas about the this RTS. The problem is I don't have the resources to start working on it, put ideas into practice, etc. Right now I can barely pay my bills.
I have been working on a smaller project in the mean time (it's here: www.proimpact.ro). My hope was I will make enough money to start working at the RTS game.
However now I'm not sure I'll be able to finish even my current project.

It'll be somewhere around 15$( most probably 14.99). That is if I get to finish it.

One more thing Buddboy, I saw your PM yesterday, right now I'm a bit busy with Crazy3D. I'll get back to you in 1-2 weeks, hope you don't mind.
