what software are you using to burn the cd's, and have you tried any other software to see if it will fix the error

I tried the default windows thingy for my iso, that didnt work. Before that I tried for mp3s: Windows, windows media, real player, musicmatch, and recordnow. I... think thats it. I dont think its the writer, cause I used it to backup everything, so I could reset. But now I need to put an iso on cd and it wont work. Should I reset agian? Im not sure what kind it is, It came with a HP pavilion, all I know is its a compact disk rewritable ultraspeed. I dont know if that helps.

You need a program with Buffer Under run protection. Nero or Roxio are great.
I can't think of any Free or Open Source windows ones right now.

might have some incompatible or just downright messed up cd's. Happened to me recently. Don't know why, but they refused to work when i burned an iso to them.

Don't forget, companies are getting kinda shady in dealing with piracy. Remember the rootkit sony put on all their cd's?
Methink maybe some cd-r/cd-rw manufacturers are putting some kind of write protection on the discs.
