The only problem with Wings is that it doesn't do animations.

Blender was way too complicated for me. Milkshape isn't free but its cheap, and the webpage has many links to useful tutorials.

Blender just takes a decent tutorial and a little bit of persistance. It's not that hard if you dont let the interface intimidate you.

Yeah, I learned the blender basics in less than a week with the noob to pro tut ( http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro )

I like Truespace 3.2 personally. I don't think there are any really comprehensive tutorials for it though, which gives it a longer than nessecessary learning curve.

lol... one problem i have with Wings3D is that i can't render with it... do i have to render to show it in the model dump thread? and if i do, does anyone know of a good renderer?

I highly doubt it, you could probably show it anyway you like, wireframe, smooth, I just put on the smooth option, hide the ground plane and axes and press print screen on my keyboard

Btw, you can render, on your top menu click on file then you should see Render on the menu, though Wings isn't a very good renderer, I heard Yafray is really good for rendering.
