Hi! My name is Calin. Im new to this community.
I found this site not long ago and I feel this is a good place to post our help request.
I am part of a small 'developers' team. Currently there are three persons in the team: two artists and one programmer. We are all Christians. Two months ago we started a small aplication for children 4 to 8 years old. It`s a building style game. We are all beginners so our game doesn`t have too many fancy things.
The reason why I am posting this here si that we need another one or two programmers to join our team. The game uses C++ and DirectX so we are looking for someone that has at least some experience in this areas.
We don`t have any money right now so we can`t pay anyone. If you wish to join our team you'll have to do it for free.
We have some screenshots and a little demo here:

If you are interested or would like to find out more about this project post a reply or send us an email at calin_ngr@yahoo.com.
Thanks!

Actually our long term aim is a Real Time Strategy game. We choose to start with a 'simcity' game because it has may similarities with a RTS: terrain engine, object picking, multiple object management system.

Although I became a member of CCN a few years ago, I have only recently (Within the last month) been actively posting on the forums. And I have yet to work on a CCN game or project. I have recently had more free time on my hands. So I am interested in helping. I have a copy of VS.net 2003 and have written a few dozen small c++ apps. I have not used directX. If you can point me in the right direction I will do the best I can.

I tried to send you a private message but it won`t let me.
Could you give an email address? I saw a yahoo email adress in your profile. It would be nice if we could use yahoo messenger or voice chat.

I just tried to find that PM you send but I don`t know where to search. They usually have a messages section in the account control panel. I can`t find that on this site though.

EDIT: OK, found it.

A few suggestions for admins : It's annoying to have this "message has been edited by" line appear each time you edit your post. Can`t you make it appear only one time even if the user made changes to his post several times. Also on GameDew and some other forums the "message edited" line appears only if the change comes up after 15 minutes from the initial post.
I'm telling this because I think it would make the posts more clean.

Hi RM.
Just a quick note.
You don't need that much of a gfx adapter to compile DX aplications.
Actually I think you don`t need at all a gfx card to compile DirectX code. The only real challenge is putting your newly compiled code at test.
The easyest way to test you machine is to download some DirectX tutorial and run the executable file( most tutorials will have one). Just make sure it's not a tutorial for fancy things (i.e. particle engines, terrain tutorials, etc.). If the application will start then most probably you'll be able to use your machine to make similar application.

you can delete those "message edited" things. one still shows up when you submit, but there will only be one.

also, this site is scheduled for a revamp within the next few months. Its gonna change alot, since it has been the same for like 4 years.

they have a thread asking for suggestions for the new version of the site.

Hey, I know this is a bit delayed, but if you or anyone else needs a C++ or C# programmer, I'm very available. I'm not a pro, but I have about two years of experience, and I'm really looking for a positive team experience. I never need to be paid, and I'd love to make friends.

Hi Tide!
I posted that announcement only four or five days ago so no need to worry about being late.
There is enough place for another programmer so we would be glad to have you in our team if you still want to join us.
