Any particular requests for textures? Someone could send you a bunch of solid hot pink / purple textures if you want, but I imagine you might want something more outdoorsy/gothic/cartoony/spacey/something? ------------------ |

My apologies, wrote the post in a hurry. I'm looking for some dark, worn type textures. Especially detailed stone and wood textures. They all need to be at least 512x512, and I can make most of my own textures, I just need someone experienced to help me with some of the more mundane textures, and help make them more interesting. Especially bricks and wood, those are what I have the most trouble with. You can look up the info on my game on the game design board if you need any extra information. If you have any question you can e-mail me at nazgul_bane@yahoo.com. ------------------ The old that is stong does not wither From the ashes a fire shall be woken Renewed shall be blade that was broken |

I have a good formula that God led me to discover for Wood grain and bark, I can make them any size and post them on my site for you to download, it's really cool looking, I could work on stone and worn textures, what kind of wood do you have in mind? stone? worn textures? tell me those and I'll start on them. ------------------ |

I just need alot of old, rough looking textures. The entire game is set in a really dark, rotting, old medieval type atmosphere, so everythign needs to be dark, mossy, and worn. ------------------ The old that is stong does not wither From the ashes a fire shall be woken Renewed shall be blade that was broken |

Besides using art that is free for commercial usage you might want to try taking pictures of real wood/brick walls that could be used as a repeating pattern. |

How should I send them to you? I could email them in a zip, or I could post them on my photobucket site or you could IM me and I can send them to you that way (if IM is the way to go, AIM: BlueblurNNL, MSN: nnl@sbcglobal.net, Yahoo: BBNNL ). ------------------ |

Cool link! It's nice that they have some texture packs free for noncommercial use downloadable from there too, I guess to see some of what it's capable of doing. Thanks for the link, and welcome to CCN! --clint ------------------ |

I made some nice looking bricks for my desktop... but I cant get at that computer right now. How exactly do you want your pictures? Real pictures? Homemade? I personaly like the stuff you make, instead of what you take on a cammera. If you take pictures you might get a peiced together look. I edited some art, changed it from pictures, to pixel art, and it looked much better. Whatever you like though. ------------------ |

inbetween the white lines, where the white lines criss-cross, you should see a faint red square out of your eye. IF you look at it, it will disapper though! Just throw me any type of textures you've got, and if I like it then I'll work out a trade deal with you. I'll trade you one of my textures for one of yours, ect. ect. Keeps me from feeling like I'm getting a free handout . Just so long as its tileable and looks old and detail. The levels are rather simple, so that means the textures have to be rather detailed. Thanks for your interest. Oh, btw, I already have/use texture maker, I'm just looking for some brick textures that look good, I'm having trouble making good looking ones with TM. ------------------ The old that is stong does not wither From the ashes a fire shall be woken Renewed shall be blade that was broken |

The trick with textures is to start with pictures. Then edit them into what you need. Like if you have a UV map then do the composite for the UV map. If you just want tillable textures here is a quick trick. In PhotoShop (or similar app) make a canvas large enough that you can put 4 of your picture together in a 2 x 2 grid. Then place a 5th copy of the picture on top (in the middle of the other 4. Then use a feathered brush and go along the sides of this 5th image. You then crop it down to the original size of the 5th image (so you might want to put some guides in before you start erasing). You should have a tillable texture!! If you need to go through the whole process again with the product of the first time then do. Also when erasing do your best to make it all flow. Jeff ------------------ |

Glad to help, if you need me to go into more detail let me know. I'm probably going to be creating a tutorial on how to best do this for my site Unify. Which is all about game creation in the Unity game engine, but a lot of the graphics stuff would be the same for any engine. Jeff ------------------ |
