Greetings, I am searching for music for a game that I am designing. It's an action/adventure title called Soul Catchers. The entire plot involves this slave boy named Karth Farrow on his quest to escape Daeshak (an Medieval anti-christ if you will) during which he finds Jesus, and goes on a new quest to free his fellow slaves and detroy Daeshak. I need some darkish, adventure style music, in either MP3 of MIDI format. If you're interested, please send me an e-mail. I have some skill in playing music, but not in composing it. I would be quite greatful for any help. [This message has been edited by Ereon (edited April 12, 2005).] |

Hi. Your game sounds interesting, all the best with it. I noticed from your other post that you have not started coding the game yet. I would suggest getting a good way down that path first before asking people to give up their time writing music for you. However, if you do some searches on the internet, you can find free music - but its usualy fairly limited and often for non-commercial use only (may or may not be a problem to you). No offence meant, you are probably just like me and like to have everything worked out in advance (plus I get all excited!). But I guess you are unlikely to get many replies untill peeps see some progress on the game first. What programming language are you going to use? I use Blitz3D which is excellent programming language for creating games. I look forward to seeing your first screenshots, |

I am using Dark Basic, and already have a small (emphasis on SMALL) demo done. As soon as I get a website I'll be posting some screenshots on the boards. I'll also be posting story bits, character outlines, and other things on the design boards to get input as soon as I can type them up. Thanks for your advice, I guess it would be better to build up some excitement first. ------------------ The old that is stong does not wither From the ashes a fire shall be woken Renewed shall be blade that was broken |

I went www.downloads.com and they had free music there, they actually had CCM, but I really like the "video game" music section located under techno... there was some pretty good, stuff, but you have to wade through some okay/pretty bad music. |

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately that material is for non-commercial distribution. I would get nailed majorly for using that stuff. Thanks for taking the time to do the research though. ------------------ The old that is stong does not wither From the ashes a fire shall be woken Renewed shall be blade that was broken |

You're game sounds like a good design; I'd be interested in composing for you. If you'd like me to compose just email me some "specs" on what music you'd like, i.e. a more detailed storyline, maybe the demo?; I'd like to get as into the game as I can. I hope you consider my offer. God Bless. ------------------ |

For posting screenshots, a really great site is called photobucket. It's a free site where you can post your pictures and post them on sites, forums, etc from photobucket. I can't wait to see and play your game. |

Head on over to my/cheese's site and click on the link to "Shuba's" page. Near the bottom is a download for 16 midi files he made himself. They're free for download. If you don't like them delete them... no harm done. ------------------ |
