Ok, me and my fired are almost sure we want 3d game studio. But since he is moving it would be harder to make a game. Than I got an idea. We both buy a copy of the standard version, then he models a little out, e mails to me, i script it out, run it, if it works i e mail it to him so he can see what it looks like. etc. Is that a good system?

Also, does 3D game studio support blender?

last, can I sell my games with standard?

yes, you can sell the games (it's on the homepage on the website, below the edition info), but you would have to display there logo on the startup screen for a second.

I don't know about blender, but it looks like you don't need it.

so, looking into getting the 3D game studio? nice. I'm personally eyeing the Commercial edition. but first.. I must come out with some other games. first things first.

Hey Arch, it's Mattiethomas9000 from AIM. I'm the friend helping en with Man of God. Well, I checked the homepage and theres a list of the things each edition has and their yes and no questions. And theres one that says watermarked and it's yes under standard. Does this mean we couldn't sell it?

Go check it.

I am still curious if we can import from blender. I know we can from milkshape, butthat's just not as good.

so for those of you who used/use it, how is it? or even better, how is it compared to other engines, like Torque and Irrichlt. if you would know.

Hey guys,

I'm not sure if there is a way to export directly from blender to MED, but I am certainly sure that it's not possible to direct from blender to WED though.

As for which is actually best, I'd say that from what I've experienced Torque is overall the best, then 3D Game Studio, then Irrlicht. 3D Game Studio is really good for beginning game developers, Irrlicht is still in beta I believe. Torque is an awesome professional grade game engine that has the best potential by far. It is not as simple to develop with as the other two though. But if you really want some hands on exp. using something that many professinals have used then this is the way to go. Many professionals also use 3D Game Studio. But Torque IMO is much better.

like how much competence do you need to effectively use torque?
also, can you do Multiplayer on Torque?

Torque has a component called the Torque Network Library, which I don't believe you get with the standard Torque purchase. You'd have to scan their site (www.garagegames.com) for more information about the licensing. As for level of competence, I speak from observation in saying that you need to know a lot more in order to accomplish something with Torque than you do with 3D Game Studio. I've played with both, and found it much easier to get started with 3D Game Studio. Of course, I've never finished a product, so I can't speak for the long haul.
