Is there a way to mix the visual C++ toolkt with an IDE or something of that nature to make something like Visual C++? ------------------ |

Do you mean like Visual C++ 6.0? or C#.Net? |

i think he's referring to the VC++ 2003 toolkit that MS put out for free - same guts as the pro version of .net 2003 or whatever...but no IDE. if that is what you mean, then yeah, I've been wondering the same. |

Yes, it's possible. I even set up my VC++ 6.0 IDE to use the .NET compiler for a while. The negative was that it produced more inefficient code in comparison to 6.0's compiler. After discovering that I went back to standard 6.0. |

hmm i've found that it produces more efficent code (not compiling managed code of course, but plain code), what options did you use? ------------------ |
