So, after my post in the arts area... I was wondering how many people are intersted in building an point and click adventure game in the Narnia setting. I know artists are hard to come by on this board, but you can always dream Initially guess i'd need: - story writer At the moment I'm not planning anything @ all yet, cause I don't really have time for this... except for programming (which I know how to) I can do all of the above jobs to some extend, but I don't find myself being really good at any of the above... So, in order to help you'd have to be better than me Writing a interesting adventure game with depth and quality its just something I'd really like to do sometime in the near future. So, who's intersted? Grtz, [This message has been edited by vincent (edited August 15, 2003).] |

Concerning art, given that most of Narnia is outside, you could probably create most of the background graphics with something like Bryce, and you wouldn't need the latest version. You can probably pick up an older version for next to nothing. Alternatively, there are a couple of free programs that do a similar job. Vue D'esprit is regularly given away on some magazine coverdisks, and another one is called Terragen but I haven't tried it. I made some Bryce backgrounds for my own point and click a few years ago (I was creating it with MultiMedia Fusion), and the backgrounds were perfect. Did you happen to find out if there's any copyright issue with using Narnia? [This message has been edited by AmazingJas (edited August 15, 2003).] |

Well, I don't really want rendered graphics for this game. I think they are too mathimatical... too sterile. (though if you can convince me otherwise, lemme know) I rather have someone really draw backgrounds and scan them or something or someone who is really good at Photoshop (or whichever package they prefer). There is a copyright issue.. basically everything concerned narnia is copyright by 'C.S. Lewis Pte Ltd'. But I don't think it'll be a problem unless the game will be published commercially. |
