"Since the beginning of time, the ancient Elves have waged war against the serpents. The Dragons, it is said, are partly responsible for all the evil and suffering in the world, as they goaded the ancestors of both Elves and Humans to allow evil into the world. This event, called the Prime Death by the Elves, took place on the planet we know as Earth. At this event all of the gates to and between other worlds were closed and sealed, and the Ancient One who alone created the world used powerful magic to curse the Dragons such that they can never return to Earth. The day that they do, they become beasts and must crawl on their bellies, losing their wings, their limbs, and their sentience." 2003 (C) Lightspire Studios, Inc.
The story is based in an entire world system and background with elements taken from the Bible. Although this particular "chapter" only takes places in one small part of one of the worlds, the detail of the backstory adds incredible depth to the game design. It is a 2D top-down action/rpg in the tradition of Zelda (SNES console feel). All the artwork will be hand-drawn and not pre-rendered. The aesthetic is a mix of western comic and anime style. There are four characters that you will play: Knight, Mage, Rogue, and Bard. The gameplay will have some elements of a RTS game as you will be in control of all of your characters at once, but not *necessarily* in the same location. The design is a mix of linear and non-linear elements and will have strong replay value. The 30+ page design document is nearly complete along with the beginning game scripts, story, characters, maps, etc. We have a strong repository of concept art done by several of our artists. We also have unbelievable musical tracks recorded digitally using an orchestral ensemble by our composer. I've written at least 60% of our custom Game Editor in C++ and MFC (creating objects, areas, items, characters, enemies, scripts, dialogue,...everything for a complete game), and about 30% of the Game Engine complete (with a working demo). It is modeled after the Infinity Engine for Baldur's Gate, but with very different gameplay in mind. We are in the process of opening a physical office location in Florida as our development center. We are currently self-funded and actively seeking a publisher to provide funds for development. We have a professional development website with a forum, files section, and private chat room for team meetings. We are in need of talented and dedicated artists with a variety of experience including sprites, concept art, background art, characters, and digital graphics expertise. We are also looking for software developers of varying degrees of experience. We need dedication as creating a game is time-intensive and challenging. If you are interested then please email me, perhaps with some links to your work. Brooksilver |

Looks like you guys have been busy for the last while. The game sounds fascinating, although I’m interested in what direction your going story wise. Since the game is based of elements and directions from the Bible, are you leading people towards God, or are you creating more of a morally sound style of game? |

Sounds excellent :-). I'll keep an eye or two on that. Wouldn't mind helping, but I seem to have tied myself up with other projects... ------------------ What part of that do some people not understand? He who dies with the most frags wins, |
